The Steward (Dishwasher) maintains sanitation and cleanliness by operating large industrial dish machines, manually scrubbing cookware, restocking service areas, and managing waste disposal in a high-volume hospitality environment.
What are we looking for?
Washing & Sanitizing: Scrape, rinse, and load dishware, glassware, and silverware into commercial machines; hand-wash oversized pots, pans, and delicate items.
Restocking: Sort and return clean plates, utensils, and equipment to designated kitchen and dining room service stations quickly.
Kitchen Sanitation: Sweep, mop, and scrub kitchen floors, empty trash and recyclables, and clean dish pits or back-dock areas.
Machine Maintenance: Monitor water temperatures, chemical levels, and cleanliness of dish machines, reporting mechanical issues right away.
Team Support: Assist culinary staff with basic kitchen cleaning, deep-cleaning projects, or prep area maintenance when needed.
Requirements:
- Physical Stamina: Stand for long shifts, bend frequently, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Environment: Tolerate hot, humid, and loud backstage kitchen settings.
- Availability: Work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays common at resort properties.
- Standards: Follow strict health department safety, hygiene, and HACCP guidelines.
