About the role 

The Director - Technical Operations Management is responsible for improving how work gets done across Convera by driving operational excellence, process standardization, and automation at scale. Reporting to the Head of Portfolio & Operations Management, this role partners with leaders across Operations, Product, Technology, Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Commercial teams to identify operational inefficiencies, document critical processes, and implement improvements that reduce cost, improve customer outcomes, and increase organizational effectiveness. 

Success in this role is measured through operational efficiency gains, documented cost savings, increased process maturity, automation adoption, improved service levels, and stronger customer outcomes. This position operates as a highly influential cross-functional leader, building business cases, securing stakeholder alignment, and ensuring operational investments deliver measurable value to the business.  

Key responsibilities: 

• Lead enterprise-wide initiatives to document, standardize, and continuously improve critical business processes.  

• Establish governance and best practices for process documentation, operational controls, and runbook management.  

• Identify, prioritize, and drive process improvement opportunities that reduce operational friction, cost, and risk.  

• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to define, prioritize, and deliver automation initiatives with measurable business outcomes.  

• Develop business cases and executive reporting that quantify operational improvements, productivity gains, customer impact, and financial ROI.  

• Influence leaders across multiple functions to strengthen operational maturity, improve service levels, and build a culture of continuous improvement. 

Key requirements: 

• 15+years significant experience leading operational excellence, process improvement, business transformation, or in complex global organizations.  

• Demonstrated success driving cross-functional initiatives and delivering outcomes through influence rather than direct authority.  

• Strong knowledge of process improvement frameworks such as Lean, Six Sigma, BPM, ITIL, or similar methodologies.  

• Experience building business cases, quantifying ROI, and presenting recommendations to senior executives.  

• Proven ability to partner with Product and Technology organizations to identify and implement automation solutions. 
   
• Financial services, payments, or other highly regulated industry experience preferred; relevant certifications (Lean Six Sigma, PMP, ITIL) are a plus.

Pay Transparency Statement

Convera is committed to pay transparency and equity in accordance with applicable U.S. state and local laws. For this position, the expected base salary range is [$245,000 - $351,000] per year, depending on factors such as experience, qualifications, and geographic location. We use a tiered geographic pay system to ensure fairness across regions. Candidates in high-cost areas may receive higher offers within the posted range.
