Starwood Hotels is seeking a Director, Design - EMEA to join our fast-paced, high-energy, and innovative design team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience delivering luxury hospitality, commercial, and/or residential projects, with demonstrated involvement throughout all phases of the interior architecture and design process—from concept through completion.

This role will be responsible for supporting the design and execution of projects across the EMEA region, ensuring that every project reflects the integrity and vision of our brands while meeting operational, financial, and development objectives.

The ideal candidate brings a balance of creativity, technical expertise, organization, and collaboration. They will work closely with ownership groups, consultants, project managers, and internal stakeholders throughout all phases of design, construction, and hotel openings. We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented, and self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills, a passion for design, and a desire to contribute to exceptional guest experiences.

Position will report to the Senior Vice President, Design.

What you will own...

• Lead design projects across the EMEA region from concept through construction administration and hotel opening.
• Represent Starwood Hotels' design vision and ensure brand standards are upheld throughout every phase of the project.
• Review and comment on design documentation, including drawings, schedules, specifications, custom details, and FF&E packages.
• Participate in the selection and specification of furniture, fixtures, equipment, finishes, and materials.
• Coordinate with ownership groups, consultants, architects, designers, engineers, and vendors to ensure project objectives are achieved.
• Manage development partner expectations while maintaining clear communication across internal and external project teams.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Designers, Architects, and senior leadership to ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with design intent.
• Support existing hotels throughout the EMEA portfolio with design-related operational requests and renovations.
• Develop presentations including concept narratives, mood boards, material palettes, FF&E selections, and design intent packages.
• Assist in developing project budgets, schedules, design standards, and FF&E templates.
• Research products, source materials, obtain quotations, and manage vendor relationships and sample libraries.
• Prepare conceptual layouts, space planning studies, and design details using AutoCAD and hand sketching where appropriate.
• Contribute to the continued evolution of Starwood Hotels' design standards while mentoring junior team members and fostering a collaborative team culture.

About You...

• 8–10+ years of professional experience within hospitality, interior design, or architecture firms.
• Extensive luxury hospitality design experience required.
• Experience managing multiple international projects simultaneously, preferably throughout the EMEA region.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and InDesign), SketchUp, Rhino, and Microsoft Office.
• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Environmental Design, or a related field.
• Must have legal authorization to work in the United Kingdom.
• Hand sketching skills are considered an asset.
