PURPOSE

Responsible to support VP Group Compliance for Whistleblowing (WB), Misconduct, Fraud and other investigations.

KEY ACCOUNTAIBILITIES

Group Office

• Responsible for investigation of WB, misconduct and fraud cases, as well as other investigations
• Prepare investigation reports to ensure compliance with the internal and external requirements/ standards. Ensuring timeliness, consistency and accuracy of investigations as well as proper record/filing of investigations
• Handle/review the correspondence on enquires/requests received from regulators/Law Enforcement Agencies (LEA). Assist in the execution of the Dawn Raid plan
• Conduct gap analysis/assessments on new internal/regulatory requirements/changes
• Establish, implement and enhance fraud risk management policies, program, risk assessment, KRIs, monitoring, reporting and analysis
• Develop the Group-wide oversight/monitoring to ensure effective processes and control procedures and overall capabilities to identify, assess and mitigate fraud risks
• Provide training to staff as appropriate

Business Units

• Review in-scope WB, misconduct, fraud, sales conduct and other investigation reports prepared by BUs to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements/standards. Provide oversight, guidance and, where required, lead or support such investigations. Monitor country reporting of such investigation cases, ensuring timeliness, consistency and accuracy as well as proper record/filing
• Support localizing the Group Policies/Standards relating to investigations, collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure smooth launch
• Monitor liaison with LEAs. Provide assistance/advice to staff when handling requests from LEAs
• Co-ordinate with countries to implement and enhance Group-wide fraud risk prevention and detection infrastructure, analysis and investigations
• Review, advice and challenge fraud risk assessment of BUs
• Manage and support fraud incidents and all other internal review findings, oversee the quality of root cause analysis and mitigation actions and risk remediation matters
• Support training to staff as appropriate

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Accounting or Business
• +7 years of complaint/investigation related working experience in financial institutions in Asia
• Relevant experience in dealing with regulators/LEA such as Hong Kong Insurance Authority, Hong Kong Police Force and ICAC
• Familiar with insurance related legislation and regulatory requirements in Hong Kong

• Able to work independently under pressure and as a team player
• Direct experience of managing internal and external stakeholders in multi-cultural environments
• Cantonese speaking skill. Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to travel
