Overview

Reporting to CFO Nuclear, this position provides high quality financial support to the overall Nuclear sector. This role will facilitate and analyze budget, actuals, forecasts, revenue processes and objectives to ensure a consistent approach across all sectors.

*This is a temporary position to cover a parental leave.

Your role

• Lead the Financial Planning and Analysis reporting process for the sector and coordinate with each Business Unit for the consolidated sector-wide actuals, as compared to budgets and quarterly forecasts, as well as the reporting for quarterly forecasts, working with the corporate finance departments to ensure reliable budgets and forecasts are updated.
• Coordinate monthly and quarterly closing processes across the sector.
• Support the sector as needed, including the development of processes, tools, and reports to help with planning, forecasting and performance monitoring activities.
• Review and analyze the monthly, quarterly and yearly performance of the sector versus the budget, forecasts and previous years, explaining what has happened and what is expected to happen.
• Review and analyze the long-range plan and budget of the Nuclear central team as well as the Nuclear sector.
• Participate in various special projects and ad hoc financial analysis and reporting.
• Participate in various tasks related to the reporting of financial information.
• Participate in creating and implementing policies and procedures.
• Maintain up-to-date sector Levels of Authority.
• Establish effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders in the Nuclear sector and other corporate finance departments.
• Responsible for the Actuals, Budget, Forecast, Long-Range Plan (LRP) and accounting for the Nuclear central team (PMO).
• Create operational plans, rolling forecasts and latest estimates.
• Lead and coordinate external audits and IFCR processes.
• Lead or participate in initiatives that are part of the Finance strategy that impact the effectiveness and efficiency of the Finance function within the Nuclear sector.
• This role can be based in Montreal or Mississauga.
• Occasional travel.

About you

• Professional accounting designation with a minimum of 7 years of finance or accounting experience.
• Understanding of accounting processes and IFRS policies.
• Ability to take initiative and work independently.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines and balance priorities.
• Team player with strong leadership skills and ability to influence.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively multitask.
• Oriented towards teamwork and ability to communicate and work with other members of the organization.
• Strong consulting and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility to accommodate work demands.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French; the role supports teams across Canada and internationally.
