The Director, EU Supply Chain will play a pivotal role in managing and evolving the supply chain operations for our pharmaceutical products in the European market. This position requires a strategic thinker and a hands-on leader who can develop and execute systems and processes to ensure seamless alignment with global supply chain strategies. This leader will collaboratively with key members of the Acadia EU organization while ensuring alignment with the Global Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Quality teams.

Primary Responsibilities:

This position will serve as the regional supply chain lead for Europe, accountable for translating global supply chain strategy into executable regional plans, ensuring supply continuity, compliant product movement, inventory accuracy, and effective coordination across EU commercial, quality, finance, manufacturing, distribution, and external partner teams.

Additionally, this position will help drive the overall growth and operations of the manufacturing and supply chain organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure product supply for European markets in partnership with the Acadia Distribution team.  This includes finished goods planning, execution and delivery into Acadia’s 3PL.
  • Lead the regional Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process within Europe and contribute to global S&OP initiatives
  • Ensure PO’s, forecasts and other contract items are executed to ensure supply of finished goods for the EU market are executed.
  • Own and provide business oversight for EU supply chain transactions in ERP, including purchase orders, receipts, inventory movements, intercompany transactions, cycle count support, and month-end supply chain close activities in partnership with Finance.
  • Partner with Finance, Tax, Trade Compliance, and ERP teams to ensure EU supply chain processes support VAT, Intrastat, customs, delivery terms, intercompany flows, and required country-specific reporting.
  • Lead EU supply chain readiness for new country launches, new SKUs, formulation changes, packaging changes, and market expansion activities, including launch inventory planning, 3PL readiness, serialization readiness, and cross-functional launch risk management.
  • Build the EU supply chain function to grow and scale with the organizations planned growth
  • Ensure adherence to EU Good Distribution Practice (GDP) guidelines and other relevant regulations
  • Support in driving serialization compliance requirements for commercial products in international markets
  • Stay informed about EU pharmaceutical legislation and supply chain laws, such as the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD)

Supplier Management:

  • Build strong relationships with external suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and supply flexibility
  • Ensure development and adherence to key supplier KPI’s of key EU CMO’s
  • Identify alternate vendors for risk mitigation and support procurement discussions

 

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Demonstrated experience building and executive supply chain systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across cultures and functions
  • Extensive knowledge of EU pharmaceutical regulations and supply chain best practices
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes, including planning, logistics, and distribution
  • Fluency in English; additional European languages are a plus

Must possess:

  • Strong analytical and computer skills required. Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong negotiating skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong organizational and documentation skill and problem-solving skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills including ability to communicate with senior management and subject matter experts (SMEs) as well as CSP supply chain and project management teams. 
  • Ability to manage change in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationship.
  • Skill at creating a team environment that supports a common vision and ability to work cross functionally within multi-departmental teams within and without the organization. 
  • Proficiency at effectively prioritizing goals, assessing team capability, and coordinating resources to achieve those goals.
  • Ability to travel 15% of the time
