À propos de ce poste Design Manager - Experience chez Dyson
About Dyson
At Dyson, we challenge convention. We’re driven by curiosity, relentless pursuit of improvement, and a desire to create the best possible experiences for our users. Our passion fuels market-leading innovation - from first sketch to in-hand reality. Here, you’ll be part of multidisciplinary teams that drive meaningful impact and set the pace for global product leadership.
We’re looking for a Design Manager who can shape that experience end to end - across product, interface, app, onboarding and everything in between.
About the Role
As Design Manager – Experience, you will define how people experience Dyson’s products from the moment they first encounter them through years of everyday use.
This is not a role focused on one interface or touchpoint. You will own the experience across the complete ecosystem: the physical product, its controls and feedback, the digital app, setup and onboarding, and the relationship between them.
You will work at the intersection of design, technology and product, translating complex capabilities into experiences that feel intuitive, premium and distinctly Dyson.
You will set the experience vision, define the requirements needed to deliver it, and bring together designers, engineers, software teams, researchers and business leaders to make it real.
What you’ll lead
1. The end-to-end digital experience
Define the experience of Dyson’s products across the app and connected ecosystem.
You will shape the journeys, behaviours and interactions that allow users to understand, control and get the most from their Dyson products, from everyday tasks through to complex states, faults and edge cases.
You’ll work with and review the output of Digital Design and Software teams to turn the experience vision into clear, prioritised requirements that can be designed, built and tested.
2. The physical product experience
Shape how people interact directly with the product itself.
You will help define the experience across controls, buttons, sensors, screens, audio feedback, haptics, connectivity and product behaviour, ensuring every interaction works as part of one coherent system.
You will partner closely with Product Design, Engineering and HMI teams to make complex technology feel simple, understandable and satisfying to use.
3. The complete onboarding journey
Own the experience from opening the box to becoming a confident, long-term user.
That includes packaging, Quick Start, first activation, product setup, app connection, first use and the critical first days and weeks of ownership.
You will identify where users need guidance, reassurance or education and design the experience so that the potential complexity of any product disappears behind a clear and intuitive journey.
4. The HMI and on-product experience vision
Provide a clear experience vision for the product’s Human-Machine Interface and on-board graphics.
You will work with HMI, Product Design and Engineering teams to ensure every interface — physical or digital — behaves as part of the same experience.
Your role is to create clarity across teams - establishing principles, defining requirements and ensuring individual design decisions add up to a coherent Dyson experience.
5. The future of Dyson experiences
Be obsessed with what is happening outside Dyson.
Understand the experiential landscape, emerging technologies, changing user behaviours and the best experiences being created across consumer technology.
Go beyond benchmarking competitors. Identify where conventions should be challenged, where new interactions are becoming possible and where Dyson has an opportunity to create something meaningfully better.
Translate those insights into experience strategies that can influence both current products and Dyson’s future roadmap over the next 3–5 years.
How you’ll work
You will be a the experience voice within your product category, working across Design, Engineering, Software, Research, Product, Business, and Innovation.
You’ll bring teams together around the user, translate technical complexity into clear experience decisions and help leadership understand the choices and trade-offs required to deliver the right product.
You will balance user value, technical feasibility, time, cost and product ambition without losing sight of the quality of the final experience.
Most importantly, you will connect the dots. Exceptional product experiences are rarely defined by a single screen or interaction, they emerge from hundreds of physical and digital decisions working together.
Your job is to make those decisions feel like one experience.
About You
We’re looking for an experienced design leader with a strong background in digital product design, UX or experience design, ideally with experience working on connected products, intelligent hardware or complex physical-digital ecosystems.
You should bring:
Significant experience leading end-to-end product or experience design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating work at the premium end of the market
Experience defining experiences across multiple touchpoints rather than designing isolated interfaces
Strong understanding of digital product design and UX, with the ability to work confidently alongside software and engineering teams
Experience with physical product interaction, HMI, connected devices highly valued
The ability to translate complex technical capabilities into simple, intuitive user experiences
Strong communication, storytelling and stakeholder-management skills
Experience leading and influencing multidisciplinary design teams
The ability to move between future vision, product strategy and detailed experience requirements
A curiosity for emerging technologies and a strong point of view on where product experiences are heading
This is a role for someone who wants to do more than improve an existing interface. It is an opportunity to help define what interacting with a Dyson product should feel like.
