Design Coordinator

Collaborate with Innovative 3Mers Around the World

As a Design Coordinator you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Support design coordination activities for assigned brands, products, services, or experiences.
• Assist in managing design projects from initial strategy and design briefs through concept review and final design delivery.
• Work with internal teams and external creative agencies to develop design insights, concepts, and solutions.
• Handle inquiries and project tasks of moderate scope and complexity under general guidance.
• Follow well-defined design approaches, systems, processes, and procedures.
• Coordinate with design community members and technical specialists to obtain design specifications, input, and guidance.
• Contribute to the development of design solutions that support innovation, product, service, or brand experience goals.
• Continue professional development by completing project assignments that build design skills, discipline-specific techniques, and knowledge of best practices.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start)

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Former 3M experience as an intern, or employee at 3M

• Growth mindset with strong creativity, curiosity, and passion for design.
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong storytelling skills with the ability to communicate design ideas clearly and effectively.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Experience with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, SolidWorks, Sketchbook Pro, or similar programs.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external creative partners.
• Self-motivated, eager to learn, and proactive in problem-solving.
• Entry-level experience in design coordination, brand design, product design, service design, or a related field.
• Ability to follow established processes and procedures with regular supervision.
• Interest in developing design expertise and applying design best practices.

Work location: Remote (Minnesota)

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic /international
