Deputy Programme Director

Location: Farnborough, UK

Leidos UK is seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Programme Director who will be accountable to the Programme Director of the Command and Control Programme.  The Programme is delivering a new Command & Control Solution for London. Delivery of this Critical National Infrastructure is fundamental to programme ability to protect and serve the public and its successful delivery is a strategic priority.

The role requires an experienced delivery professional with experience of complex, high-value programmes and services operating in mission critical environments. The Deputy Programme Director is responsible for delivering customer outcomes whilst protecting Leidos commercial interests.

The role is responsible for delivering the solution into live operations across two Drops.

The role requires you to build and maintain trusted relationships with senior Leidos, and supplier executives in the UK and internationally.

The Deputy Programme Director’s responsibilities include:

• Leading the successful delivery of the Command and Control Solution.

• Ownership of customer relationships and act as the senior delivery interface with executive stakeholders.

• Managing delivery risks, dependencies and opportunities.

• Leading multidisciplinary delivery, engineering, service and operational teams.

• Promoting a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration and delivery excellence.

The successful candidate will have:

• A demonstrable track record of working in large, complex and strategically important programmes within in high pressure situations across government, public safety, defence, national security in key programme roles.

• Extensive experience operating as a Senior Project / Programme Manager.

• Demonstrable experience recovering, stabilising and successfully delivering programmes operating under significant schedule, technical, commercial, contractual or stakeholder pressure – red programmes.

• Experience with large scale business transformation and technology enabled change.

• Established and maintained robust programme governance aligned to lifecycle requirements, customer governance frameworks and recognised industry good practice.

• The ability to lead through ambiguity, uncertainty and highly pressured operational environments.

• Experience managing complex, multi-supplier delivery environments.

• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing contractual obligations and commercial negotiations.
