  • Handling original research papers and working closely with other editors on all aspects of the editorial process, including manuscript selection and overseeing peer review, at a 50% workload of a Senior Editor.
  • Liaising extensively with editors at other journals in the Nature Portfolio family and with experts in the international scientific community.
  • Attending conferences and visiting research institutions (in person and online).
  • Commissioning Reviews and Comment articles and writing Editorials.
  • Suggesting and overseeing Collections according to Collections programme.
  • Ensuring Production receives manuscripts in an appropriate and complete state.
  • Other tasks as required.

  • Strong workload management- and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Thorough knowledge of the scientific community and its needs.
