[What you will be working on]

Working within a tight-knit team of high-performing officers, you will undertake foreign exchange intervention operations to manage the Singapore dollar within its policy band. You will also be responsible for gathering market intelligence on developments in the SGD and regional FX markets, preparing analytical briefs, and providing updates to MAS senior management.

Besides the above duties, you will be involved in a range of projects, typically working with various internal and external stakeholders including government ministries, foreign central banks, primary dealers and other market participants. You will lead projects to enhance the conduct of foreign exchange, including to ensure readiness for intervention amidst heightened financial market volatility. You will also drive initiatives to enhance market surveillance and analytical capabilities, including through the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI).

The work is interesting and challenging. You can expect to gain:

• Mandate to tangibly impact MAS’ intervention and management of SGD FX volatility;
• Knowledge of how the SGD and regional FX markets function;
• The opportunity to engage with experienced industry players (e.g. banks, institutional investors and other domestic market participants) as well as other central bankers; and
• Experience across all stages of the policy life cycle, from conceptualisation to implementation.

No prior work experience or degree in economics / finance is required, as extensive training will be conducted on-the-job. Applicants should be Singapore citizens. Applicants should be prepared that they will be regularly tasked to monitor foreign exchange markets overnight as part of their operational duties.

You will be working in a fast-paced environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and needs of stakeholders, as well as the agility to respond to changes and developments.
