Who we are looking for

We are looking for a Depositary Operations Specialist, who will work under supervision of Manager and be engage in various projects, special analysis and initiatives relating to technical aspects of the business. You will act as a process SME and provide technical support to Depositary Supervisor and teams to ensure all deliverables are produced and dispatched on time in accordance with client service level agreements and agreed quality standards.

Our Depositary team helps ensure that fund assets are protected and that important controls are in place. It's a great opportunity to build expertise in investment funds, financial markets, and the broader banking industry while working in an international environment.

Depositary is an EMEA specific regulatory function with Fiduciary duty to the end investor.

European investment funds, whether UCITS or AIF, must appoint a Depositary in accordance with the UCITS and AIFM Directives. The Depositary is responsible for the safekeeping of the investment fund’s assets and therefore ensures separation of those assets from the management of the fund. In addition, the depositary is required to perform oversight functions and, in this way, oversees certain activities of the fund manager such as valuation of the fund assets and monitoring of fund cash flows.

This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements.

What you will be responsible for

As a Depositary Operations Specialist, you will:

• Actively reviews and prepares Depositary tasks (all Clients) relating to safekeeping, cash flow monitoring and oversight activities.
• Liaise with clients (internal & external) and supporting departments for the purpose of obtaining key inputs to service delivery, resolving errors and discrepancies.
• Assists Manager in the organization of the Team and in ensuring that departmental procedures and controls are adhered to.
• Identify issues and problems in service delivery and carry out necessary corrective action. Ensure the issues log is updated and track progress.
• Take responsibility for analysis and streamlining depositary controls, work with other SMEs to create a unified process flow, standardizing processes and establishing best practice
• Participate as technical SME in the development, testing and implementation of new systems and products relating to the ongoing business transformation process. Provide regular progress reports and give feedback during project meetings.
• Identify process inefficiencies, apply lean approach and work with team members in order to generate efficiency savings.
• Develop and maintain automations by utilizing different solutions (VBA, Python, AI or similar)

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• Fluency in English- written and spoken
• At least +2 years of relevant working experience preferably in fund accounting/ Alternative Investments
• Bachelor’s degree, preferable in finance, accounting, economic or STEM
• Knowledge of AIFMD, CSSF regulations would be an advantage
• Geneva, Investran knowledge is consider as an asset
• Experience in creating Excel Reports
• Python, Access, VBA, SQL, Xceptor knowledge – must have

Minimum Salary:​

The minimum salary quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate ultimately works outside of this primary location, the applicable minimum salary may differ.​

Salary will be determined based on factors such as the position, type of work performed, individual skills, job description, working hours, diligence, initiative, self-management, length of employment, availability, and the quantity and quality of work delivered, as well as other objective and non-discriminatory criteria relevant to State Street employees.​

In addition to salary, employees are eligible to be considered for discretionary annual performance-based awards.​
