Position Overview
United Health Services (UHS) is seeking a Customer Service Technician to safely operate company vehicles while delivering, installing, and servicing respiratory and durable medical equipment for patients in home, hospital, and healthcare settings. This driving-focused position requires extensive daily travel to patient locations, strong customer service skills, and the ability to independently manage delivery routes, equipment setups, pickups, and service calls. The Customer Service Technician plays a critical role in ensuring patients receive timely access to medically necessary equipment while providing hands-on instruction and support to patients, caregivers, and referral sources.The Customer Service Technician is responsible for maintaining a safe driving record, adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), HIPAA, and infection control requirements, and ensuring company vehicles are properly maintained, stocked, and ready for service. This role includes educating patients on equipment use and safety, completing required documentation, performing equipment maintenance and repairs, coordinating deliveries and pickups, and participating in on-call coverage, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, comfortable driving throughout the service area, and committed to delivering exceptional patient care and customer service while working independently in the field.

Job Responsibilities
- Deliver, install, and set up respiratory and durable medical equipment for adult and pediatric patients in home and healthcare settings.
- Educate patients, caregivers, and referral sources on the safe operation, maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of medical equipment.
- Coordinate and manage daily delivery and pickup schedules while maintaining communication with patients regarding arrival times and service updates.
- Complete and review all required documentation, ensuring forms are accurately explained, signed, and submitted in a timely manner.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, repairs, and equipment replacements in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and safety standards.
- Collect and process payments for cash-on-delivery transactions and maintain accurate financial documentation and receipts.
- Provide responsive customer service and participate in on-call coverage, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet patient needs.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, serial numbers, lot numbers, patient information, and insurance documentation.
- Follow infection control, hazardous waste disposal, and personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols during equipment handling, transport, and retrieval.
- Inspect, maintain, and stock company vehicles and equipment to ensure operational readiness, safety compliance, and efficient service delivery.
Position Qualifications
Minimum Required:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent with a clean driving record.
- Experience working with hazardous waste and flammable gases responsibly, driving in unfavorable conditions and at night, as well as working with minimal direct supervision.
