Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled SSRS Support Engineer to provide production support, maintenance, and enhancement of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in SQL Server, SSRS report development, troubleshooting, and performance optimization, along with excellent analytical and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Provide Level 2/Level 3 production support for SSRS reports and reporting applications.
Monitor scheduled report execution and resolve report failures.
Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve report-related issues within defined SLAs.
Develop, modify, and maintain SSRS reports based on business requirements.
Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and implement preventive measures.
Coordinate with business users, developers, and database administrators to resolve production incidents.
Support report deployments across Development, QA, UAT, and Production environments.
Optimize report performance and SQL queries to improve execution time.
Maintain documentation for reports, support procedures, and knowledge base articles.
Participate in release activities and production deployments.
Ensure adherence to data security, governance, and organizational standards.
Required Skills
Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
Good knowledge of SQL Server, T-SQL, Stored Procedures, Views, Functions, and Triggers.
Experience in report creation using Tabular, Matrix, Charts, Drill-down, Drill-through, and Sub-reports.
Knowledge of Report Manager, Report Server, Report Builder, and report deployment.
Experience in troubleshooting report performance and execution issues.
Familiarity with SQL Server Agent Jobs and report scheduling.
Understanding of database design concepts and performance tuning.
Experience using ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or similar.
Knowledge of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, and Change Management).
Preferred Skills
Experience with Power BI is an added advantage.
Basic knowledge of SSIS and ETL processes.
Experience with Azure SQL or cloud reporting solutions is desirable.
Familiarity with source control tools such as Git or Azure DevOps.
Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong time management and prioritization skills.
Willingness to provide production support, including on-call support if required.
Nice to Have
Microsoft SQL Server certification.
Experience supporting enterprise reporting environments.
Knowledge of PowerShell scripting for report automation.
