Mental Health Cooperative, Inc. (MHC) was formed in 1993 to serve individuals with severe and persistent mental illness.  Since then, we have expanded our services to children and adolescents with severe emotional disorders across Middle and East Tennessee.

Job Title: Crisis Supervisor, Children & Youth (Nashville, TN)

Summary: Provides direct leadership to the Mobile Crisis Response Team staff as well as performing necessary Crisis Counselor duties.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (37.5 hours per week)
 

Position Responsibilities:

• Support the MCRT staff through proactive measures, e.g., brainstorming and problem-solving on both immediate situations and future concerns.
• Keep Crisis Counselor informed of current policies and procedures.
• Serve as accountability for utilizing least restrictive options in dispositioning crisis calls.
• Provide crisis training for new and current employees.
• Assist in organizing and directing staff meetings.
• Develop and maintain a working relationship with community agencies.
• Conduct information meetings for community agencies as needed.
• Assist Program Director and Program Manager in developing strategic plans for MCRT.
• Assist in developing and updating policies and procedures for activities of MCRT.
• Attend to hiring needs of staffing for MCRT.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings and supervisors’ meetings.
• Daily monitoring the quality of crisis assessments and encourage performance adjustments as needed.
• Provide documented clinical supervision in a group or individual format either weekly or monthly as designated by MHC.
• Provide consult to Triage Counselors on incoming calls.
• Assist with assessments as needed.
• Review all referrals to hospitals and provide written report to Urgicare consultants daily.
• Provide field supervision bi-monthly with crisis staff.
• Oversee scheduling for PTO within the MCRT and ensure adequate coverage for shifts.
• All duties associated with Crisis Counselor and Triage Counselor when needed.
  

Other Responsibilities:

• Responsible for attending all mandatory in-services, continuing education and annual health requirements
• Comply with all Corporate Compliance policies, practices and procedures
• Report all unethical activities to supervisor, Corporate Compliance Office, Values Hotline number or Human Resource Director
• Comply with all OSHA and safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe practices or accidents to supervisor, Safety Supervisor and/or OSHA Coordinator
• Will be compliant with the relevant regulations concerning the privacy and security of consumer’s protected health information (PHI) as established by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
• Follow all policies and procedures set by the Agency

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Master’s degree in a related field of counseling, psychology, sociology or social work
• Two years of supervisory experience in a mental health setting
• At least two years’ experience in crisis services.
