Summary of Role:

The Corporate Security Specialist must have the training, experience, and ability to respond appropriately to critical incidents in order to protect Broadview FCU employees, guests and property; including threat identification, assessment, response and investigation.  The role assists Broadview business units in mitigating credit union losses while securing proprietary and member information.  The position will conduct investigations under the supervision of the Corporate Security Operations Administrator including; abusive incidents; events occurring at Broadview FCU properties or involving Broadview FCU staff or interests; and ancillary to the recovery of Broadview FCU collateral.  The Corporate Security Specialist will be deployed to various locations, at the discretion of supervision, to best support security operations. Maintains the highest level of confidentiality as it pertains to sensitive information and controls.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

• Be visible and observant; respond immediately to distress calls, panic alarms, and emergency calls promptly and appropriately
• Provide support to all staff regarding essential Security and Safety procedures
• Maintain the credit union’s reputation with professionalism and legal compliance
• Investigate and take appropriate lawful action as authorized by corporate policy
• Control and monitor surveillance equipment, and perform building and equipment inspections
• Complete reports, including relevant information, observations, surveillance footage, and signatures
• Support HR for terminations, investigations, property recovery, etc.
• Conduct elevated risk branch checks
• Security monitoring inspections – Broadview owned properties
• Assume investigatory role for Abusive Member incidents and events occurring at Broadview FCU properties or involving Broadview FCU staff under the direction of the Corporate Security Operations Administrator 
• Conduct Skip-tracing and related investigations to support the recovery of Broadview FCU collateral
• Support confidential internal investigations under the direction of supervision
• Security support – large dollar cash transactions, security system outages, secure transports, Retail Operations equipment deployment
• Regional access control/security ID badge provisioning
• Serve as security liaison for SEFCU executive, administrative, branch, and call center operations staff with law enforcement, courts, and other public authorities.
• Support security-related training such as CRASE, Robbery Response, Abusive Member and CPR/First Aid.
• Special-event security support

Additional Physical Security responsibilities

• Adhere to company policies and procedures, while maintaining confidentiality and showing discretion. Report or take action to correct any breach of Broadview FCU security policies
• Proactively assess incidents of an unusual, suspicious, or dangerous nature and act to resolve these situations.  Execute safety procedures to protect the lives of employees and guests in various emergency situations. 
• Intervene in situations where there is imminent risk of harm to employees or guests.  This intervention may take the form of investigation, reporting, electronic system intervention, verbal de-escalation, or physical interaction
• Utilize rapid and effective judgment in responding to unusual or emergency situations following established protocol
• Respond in a positive manner with alternative solutions when an individual’s initial request is not possible
• Communicate and/or document any irregular security-related or safety-related incidents. Respond to safety and emergency-related incidents and provide first responder level operational medical support as circumstances dictate
• Maintain a complete knowledge of organizational structure, personnel names and titles aided by the company directory of information

• Preclude unauthorized access to facilities, theft or intentional destruction of physical assets
• Adhere to all security policies and procedures

Minimum Job Qualifications:

• Minimum 10 years law enforcement experience including 2 years in an investigatory role, or bachelor’s degree with minimum 5 years law enforcement including 2 years in an investigatory role. 

Additional/Preferred Requirements:

• Experience as a lead investigator highly desirable
• Certification in Emergency First Aid, CPR/AED
• Basic Criminal Investigation course (required), Interview and Interrogation (preferred)
• Must possess (or be able to secure within 90 days) NYSDOL Armed Guard and Private Investigator Licenses
• NYS Pistol Permit with demonstrated proficiency in accordance with NYSDOL standards
• Must be able to meet continued proficiency standards for all licensing and certifications
• Ability to work independently utilizing high level of professional discretion
• Highly trustworthy and discreet
• Experience with access control systems, CCTV, alarm monitoring, etc.
• Strong PC skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook 
• Must meet heightened standards for background, drug-screening, and reference checks

Compensation: $65,990-$80,838, plus a competitive benefits package
