The Control Room Operator oversees offshore electrical operations, commissioning, and maintenance in compliance with HSE, NR-10, and EX standards. The role tests emergency systems, conducts planned maintenance, and inspects contractor equipment. Additionally, it enforces Permit-to-Work procedures and safety policies to ensure operational reliability.
Responsabilities:
• Operate the DCS, Fire & Gas System, ESD System. (Emergency Shutdown).
• To act consciously and safely in times of emergency by understanding your role and following the OIM´s instructions.
• Monitor the correct operation of all plant and equipment.
• Log taking and understanding and interpretation of data. Work closely with DCS Technician on all matters concerning the DCS or PLCs. (Program to control the plant). Use the DCS efficiently and react immediately in case of emergency.
• Maintain historical trends of the various process systems.
• To fill out the shift logbook with all relevant information regarding fire and gas systems, process conditions, and inhibition, and to ensure it is properly recorded and archived.
• Perform well testing and ensure the correct data is obtained through a report to be presented Well Testing Department.
• Test the wells and ensure correct data collection through a report to be presented to the Well Testing Department.
• Participate on plant troubleshooting.
• Inform Production Supervisor when the system is unstable or malfunctioning.
• Other duties that are correlated to the function as directed and requested by Production Supervisor Or Production Superintendent.
• Keep up certification applied to the function and medical certificates up to date.
• Attend Company training as defined. Perform all emergency duties assigned to their function, in response to the emergency, if applicable.
• Ensure compliance with BW procedures, applied to the function, including BW Permit to Work System.
• Need to be fully familiar and comply with Company Policies, Quality, HSE and all Procedures assigned to his title/position.
• Anticipate and notice any unsafe condition and assure that the correction actions are taken according to procedure.
• Responsible for your own safety and for the safety of your co-workers.
Requirements
Education
• Engineering or equivalent Degree desirable.
• Advanced English Level
Experience
• Experience in production department as Production Operator or Similar.
