About the role

Twist Bioscience is looking for a senior Content Lead to be the strategic and creative owner of how we sound, everywhere we show up. This is a partner-level seat at the table for brand voice, content strategy, content marketing, evergreen and funnel content, and integrated 360 campaigns, not a "write the blog posts" role. You'll work across marketing, brand, product, and sales to make sure every word we put into the world, from a landing page headline to a trade show campaign to a technical white paper, sounds like it came from the same company and pulls its weight commercially.

We need someone who has done this from both sides of the table. Agency-side, where you learned to move fast, pitch ideas, and defend creative under pressure. In-house, where you learned to build systems, work within scientific and regulatory guardrails, and make content strategy stick over the long haul. Life sciences or biotech/pharma experience is essential; you should be comfortable translating complex science into content that's accurate, credible, and still genuinely compelling to read.

What you'll own

• Brand voice and content strategy. Define and evolve our brand voice, tone, and messaging frameworks, and make sure they're actually usable, not just a slide in a deck nobody opens.
• Content marketing. Set the strategy and quality bar for content marketing across channels, and partner with writers, designers, and marketers to execute against it.
• Evergreen content. Build and maintain the core library of content that represents who we are and what we do, the kind that doesn't expire with a campaign calendar.
• Funnel content. Architect content across the funnel, from awareness through consideration through conversion, so every stage has the right message in the right format for the right audience.
• 360 campaigns. Act as the words lead on integrated campaigns spanning digital, events, sales enablement, PR, and social, making sure the creative concept and the copy are built together instead of bolted on at the end.
• Cross-functional partnership. Be the go-to partner for product marketing, brand, design, and sales on anything language-related, including naming, positioning, messaging hierarchies, and campaign concepts.
• Team and process leadership. Set standards, give sharp and constructive feedback, and build the systems (style guides, briefs, review processes) that let a growing content function scale without losing quality or voice.

What you bring

• 10+ years of experience across content strategy, content marketing, and brand/copywriting, with meaningful time spent in a senior or leadership capacity.
• A career that spans both agency and in-house environments. You understand how each shapes the way you work, and you know how to get the best of both.
• Direct experience in life sciences, biotech, pharma, or a related scientific/technical industry, with a demonstrated ability to make dense, technical subject matter feel clear and human.
• A strong point of view on brand voice and a portfolio that shows range, from a single perfectly-tuned headline to a fully integrated campaign.
• Proven experience building and executing content strategy across the full funnel, not just producing individual assets.
• Experience leading 360/integrated campaigns and collaborating closely with creative, design, and media partners.
• Excellent editorial judgment and the confidence to push back on stakeholders, including senior ones, when the words aren't working.
• Comfort operating both strategically (frameworks, roadmaps, positioning) and in the weeds, actually writing and editing when it counts.

Nice to have

• Experience writing for regulated or scientifically rigorous industries where accuracy and compliance are non-negotiable.
• Background managing or mentoring a team of writers, editors, or content strategists.
• Familiarity with SEO, content performance measurement, and using data to inform content decisions.
