We are seeking a Content Associate, Special Projects to join our Special Projects team, where we partner with clients across the life sciences industry to create timely, relevant, and impactful content. This entry-level role is for someone with a creative mind, strong writing and editing instincts, and the curiosity to quickly learn complex topics across pharmaceutical sciences and healthcare — turning that knowledge into polished, evidence-based print and digital deliverables for scientific and medical professional audiences. You will support projects from inception through completion, collaborating with content editors, studio producers, creative designers, and client teams to deliver high-quality custom content on tight timelines. This role is based in Cranbury, New Jersey on a hybrid schedule. You are expected to use AI tools as a standard part of how you research, write, edit, and manage content workflows.

What You'll Do

• Stay current on developments and trends in healthcare, pharmaceutical sciences, clinical research, and the business of medicine to inform timely and accurate content

• Use AI tools to accelerate background research, support initial drafting, improve copyediting consistency, and manage content workflows — verifying all output against source material before it advances in the production process

• Copyedit scientific content including document styling, with demonstrated familiarity of AMA and AP style and in-house editorial guidelines

• Perform fact-checks and background research to ensure the accuracy and credibility of all deliverables

• Develop scripts for webinars and Q&As with supervision, applying clear, audience-appropriate language for scientific and medical professionals

• Assess video content for segmenting and editing needs, and support production workflows through the full project lifecycle

• Utilize in-house CMS platforms for content posting, traffic project materials as needed, and perform administrative filing and support activities

• Shadow managers and colleagues on the special project process — client calls, updates, recordings — building the knowledge and instincts to take on greater ownership over time

• Collaborate with a small team of content editors, studio producers, and creative designers to produce high-quality, custom deliverables that meet client expectations

• Prioritize daily tasks with manager guidance, adapting quickly to shifting timelines and evolving project needs

What Sets You Apart

• Strong writing, editing, and copyediting skills with a portfolio or work samples that demonstrate your ability to produce clean, professional content

• An AI-native mindset. You actively use tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Perplexity to support research, drafting, and editing workflows — and you apply your own editorial judgment to verify and refine AI output before it advances

• Curiosity and the ability to learn quickly about the professional roles, terminology, and nuances of medical and scientific industries

• Familiarity with AMA and AP style; interest in developing fluency across in-house editorial standards

• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects on tight timelines both independently and as part of a collaborative team

• Flexibility and adaptability — you evolve with the role and treat an unfamiliar task as something to work out

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with Adobe InCopy and/or InDesign, CMS platforms, and audio/video editing software preferred

• Familiarity with digital content publishing best practices and SEO fundamentals preferred

• Bachelor's degree in life sciences communications, medical journalism, writing, or a related field required

AI Capability Expectation

Candidates should be prepared to discuss how they are currently using AI in their writing, editing, or research work. This includes:

• Specific tools in active use and how they support background research, content drafting, copyediting, or scientific fact-checking workflows

• How you verify AI-assisted research and draft content against primary sources before it moves forward in a production process

• Examples of how AI has helped you learn new subject matter faster, produce cleaner first drafts, or manage content tasks more efficiently

• Bonus: examples of AI-assisted editorial workflows that improved turnaround time or output quality on complex, multi-stakeholder content projects

Compensation Range

$42,000 to $50,000 per year, depending on qualifications. Eligible for annual company bonus program or commission incentive based on role. Compensation will depend on factors including educational background, skills, and professional experience.
