Job Summary
The Community Inspector is responsible for conducting routine inspections across residential and mixed-use communities to ensure compliance with community rules, municipal regulations, health and safety standards, and property management requirements. The role focuses on maintaining community appearance, resident satisfaction, and operational excellence by identifying, reporting, and following up on violations and maintenance issues.
Key Responsibilities
Community Inspections
- Conduct regular inspections of residential, commercial, and common areas within the community.
- Identify violations related to community rules, property standards, landscaping, parking, waste management, and public safety.
- Monitor community facilities, amenities, and infrastructure to ensure they are maintained to required standards.
- Report defects, damages, and maintenance requirements to relevant departments.
Compliance Monitoring
- Ensure compliance with community management policies, municipal regulations, and environmental standards.
- Inspect contractor activities to verify adherence to approved standards and safety requirements.
- Document violations and initiate corrective action procedures.
- Follow up on outstanding violations and ensure timely resolution.
Resident & Stakeholder Engagement
- Respond to resident complaints and service requests related to community conditions.
- Provide guidance to residents and tenants regarding community regulations and standards.
- Coordinate with property management teams, maintenance contractors, and external authorities when required.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inspection reports.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, findings, violations, and corrective actions.
- Use inspection software, mobile applications, or property management systems to record observations and track resolutions.
- Generate photographic evidence and detailed reports for management review.
Health, Safety & Environmental Monitoring
- Identify potential health and safety hazards within the community.
- Ensure public areas are clean, safe, and accessible.
- Monitor waste disposal practices and environmental compliance.
- Report emergency situations and support incident investigations when necessary.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Property Management, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in Property Management, Facilities Management, or Health & Safety are an advantage.
Experience
- 2-5 years of experience in community management, facilities management, property inspection, municipal inspection, or related fields.
- Experience within residential communities, mixed-use developments, hospitality destinations, or real estate projects preferred.
