The Opportunity: We are seeking a Commercial Contract Analyst to join our Roche Service Solution (RSS) team in San Jose, Costa Rica. This is a unique opportunity to directly support Genentech’s US-based Channel & Contract Management (CCM) division by managing the complex lifecycle of contract operations and delivering on commitments to managed care customers. As a member of the Contract Strategy Implementation (CSI) team, you will manage end-to-end contract operations for various US customers, including healthcare providers, pharmacies, wholesalers, payers, pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), and government accounts. This involves a broad range of responsibilities—from assessing the operational feasibility of contracting strategies and setting up contracts to managing memberships, administering customer payments, and processing chargebacks.

The Opportunity:

• Collaborate regularly with business partners, cross-functional stakeholders, and customers through meetings, initiatives, and strategic projects, bringing strong customer orientation, adaptability, and a continuous improvement mindset.
• Provide key insights and recommendations during the development of contracting, pricing, and distribution strategies, representing the department on strategy, account core, and product launch teams.
• Translate contract terms into operational solutions that fulfill access and financial obligations, assess the operational feasibility of proposed strategies, and develop solutions aligned with strategic objectives.
• Draft, evaluate, and refine contract language as needed; set up and maintain detailed contract information in systems; research and validate customer information for program or pricing eligibility.
• Use systems and tools to calculate, validate, and process customer payments; communicate contract/program details to internal and external stakeholders; develop training on contracting, distribution, obligations, procedures, systems, rebates/discounts, and eligibility; and establish performance metrics and ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Genentech policies.

Who you are:

• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years’ experience in commercial functions within pharmaceutical/biotechnology, managed care, or related industries; preferred 4–6 years in managed care and/or government contract operations, contract administration, or financial analysis in pharma/biotech or related industries.
• Proven ability to work in complex, customer-focused environments with tight and frequent deadlines, demonstrating excellent organization, attention to detail, strategic thinking, analytical capability, and solutions-driven problem solving.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to build cross-team partnerships, influence stakeholders effectively in writing and verbally, work with remote US-based stakeholders, and demonstrate curiosity, active listening, openness, inclusion, and a continuous improvement mindset.
• Solid expertise with Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Google Suite, with knowledge of systems and reporting tools that support contract operations preferred.
• Familiarity with US healthcare contracting is preferred, including managed care, the healthcare industry, and government programs such as 340B, FSS, Medicare, and Medicaid.
• Preferred additional experience includes project management and related techniques, plus designing/creating digital customer-facing tools and accelerating digital innovation.
