Position Summary

As a Microsoft Teams & Viva Cloud Solution Architect, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers, delivering proactive services including education workshops, assessments, technical guidance, and solution design. In this role, you will help clients optimize Microsoft Teams environments—covering Teams administration, Teams Telephony, governance, security, and Microsoft 365 integration—while also designing and deploying meaningful employee experience solutions across the Microsoft Viva suite. This is an opportunity for a technically strong, consultative professional who enjoys solving complex collaboration, communications, and employee experience challenges at enterprise scale.

Responsibilities

• Act as a key technical resource for customers, delivering workshops, assessments, recommendations, and expert guidance across Microsoft Teams, Teams Telephony, Microsoft Viva, and broader Microsoft 365 services.

• Partner with clients to assess, optimize, and modernize Microsoft Teams environments, including administration, policy management, compliance, security, governance, and integration with Microsoft 365.

• Design and implement Teams Telephony solutions, including Direct Routing, Calling Plans, Operator Connect, voice architecture, disaster recovery planning, and performance tuning.

• Develop Teams governance frameworks and support Center of Excellence initiatives that promote scalable, secure, and well-managed collaboration experiences.

• Use PowerShell for Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 administration, automation, troubleshooting, and environment management.

• Support Microsoft Purview-related governance and compliance needs, including data loss prevention, sensitivity labels, and eDiscovery.

• Advise on Microsoft Graph API, Microsoft Intune, Teams Rooms, Teams app development, custom connectors, and message extensions where applicable.

• Design and deploy Microsoft Viva Connections experiences, including SharePoint Online home sites, information architecture, dashboards, feeds, resources, branding, global navigation, audience targeting, and Teams app deployment or pinning strategies.
• Implement Adaptive Card Extensions and guide governed rollout approaches through Teams app policies.

• Build Viva Engage strategies, including community architecture, governance, moderation, leadership engagement, campaigns, storylines, Q&A experiences, analytics, compliance, and lifecycle management.

• Guide customers through transitions from legacy Yammer experiences where applicable.

• Configure Viva Learning by integrating content sources such as Microsoft Learn, LinkedIn Learning, and supported LMS providers.

• Design learning hubs, featured content, role-based learning paths, assignments, tracking workflows, and reporting for completion or compliance training outcomes.

• Stand up Viva Amplify capabilities for centralized campaign management, multi-channel publishing across Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams, approval workflows, templates, scheduling, and campaign measurement.

• Deploy and configure Viva Insights experiences, including Personal Insights, Manager Insights, Leader Insights, Advanced Insights, and Workplace Analytics.

• Develop privacy-compliant insights governance approaches in alignment with HR and compliance teams.

• Build dashboards and actionable recommendations that help leadership improve employee engagement, collaboration, wellbeing, productivity, meeting culture, and focus time strategies.

• Integrate Viva Insights with Power BI to support advanced reporting and executive dashboards.

• Extend employee experience and automate workflows using Power Platform, including Power Automate, Power Apps, and Dataverse for Teams.

• Collaborate across internal and external communities by sharing strategic insights, technical input, and lessons learned.

• Participate in external technical events such as conferences, webinars, or hackathons, and bring relevant knowledge back into the organization.

• Mentor less experienced colleagues and act as a role model for continuous learning, technical excellence, and customer-focused delivery.

• Proactively develop and execute a technical and professional learning plan with manager support.

 

 Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Microsoft Teams, including Teams administration, Teams Telephony, policy management, compliance, security configurations, and governance.

• Hands-on experience with Teams Telephony technologies such as Direct Routing, Calling Plans, and Operator Connect.

• Experience designing and implementing Teams governance frameworks and Center of Excellence initiatives.

• Strong PowerShell scripting skills for Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 administration.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Purview for data governance and compliance, including DLP, sensitivity labels, and eDiscovery.

• Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 integration points with Teams and Viva, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Power Platform.

• Experience with Microsoft Viva solutions, including Viva Connections, Viva Engage, Viva Learning, Viva Amplify, Viva Insights, and Viva Goals.

• Experience with Viva Connections architecture, including SharePoint Online, home site setup, dashboard design, Adaptive Card Extensions, audience targeting, and Teams app deployment or pinning.

• Experience with Viva Engage community governance, leadership engagement, campaigns, moderation, analytics, insights, and content lifecycle.

• Experience configuring Viva Learning connectors, supported LMS integrations, learning paths, assignments, curation, and completion reporting in Teams.

• Experience with Viva Amplify campaign planning, template governance, multi-channel orchestration, approvals, and analytics dashboards.

• Expertise in configuring Viva Insights experiences, including Personal Insights, Manager Insights, Leader Insights, Workplace Analytics queries, metric interpretation, and actionable recommendations.

• Ability to integrate Viva Insights with Power BI for advanced reporting and executive dashboards.

• Knowledge of privacy, compliance, and data anonymization principles for insights deployment.

• Experience with Power Platform, including Power Automate, Power Apps, and Dataverse for Teams.

• At least 5 years of experience with cloud and hybrid/on-premises infrastructures, architecture design, migrations, and technology management.

• Ability to lead technical conversations with customers and translate business needs into scalable Microsoft 365, Teams, Viva, and employee experience solutions.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Graph API for automation and integration is a plus.

• Experience with Microsoft Intune for device and app management is a plus.

• Exposure to Microsoft Teams Rooms setup and management is desirable.

• Development experience with Teams apps, custom connectors, or message extensions is beneficial.

• English language proficiency required; Mandarin capability is optional.

• Preferred certification: Microsoft Teams Administrator Associate or equivalent current Teams certification.

• Preferred certification: Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals — MS-900.
