GDIT is seeking a Senior Cloud System Administrator / Integrator with deep experience supporting Army systems in cloud and hybrid environments. You will apply advanced systems design and integration principles to deliver secure, interoperable, and cloud-optimized solutions.
You will lead cloud integration and system administration efforts across on-prem, tactical, and cloud-hosted environments, ensuring secure, scalable, and mission-ready architectures aligned with Army and DoD cloud strategies, including AC2SP/ALTESS and relevant DoD cloud initiatives.
Required Certifications
- DoD 8140 / IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+, CySA+, or GSEC).
- At least one foundational cloud certification (required):
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
- Microsoft Azure Fundamentals
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Foundations Associate
Preferred / Advanced Certifications
- One or more associate or professional-level cloud certifications:

What You’ll Do:
- Lead cloud-focused integration and system administration across AC2SP/ALTESS-aligned environments, supporting Army cloud migration, modernization, and convergence initiatives
- Design and manage hybrid architectures that integrate:
- On-prem Army systems
- Tactical edge environments
- Cloud platforms (e.g., Azure Government, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, AC2SP, ALTESS)
- Administer and integrate workloads within Azure and OCI environments, including:
- Compute (VMs, containers, serverless where applicable)
- Storage (blobs, disks, object storage)
- Networking (VNets, subnets, gateways, peering, VPNs)
- Identity and access services (Azure AD, OCI IAM, role-based access control)
- Support migration and sustainment of geospatial systems (e.g., ArcGIS) into cloud-native and hybrid architectures, ensuring performance, reliability, and secure access
- Implement and maintain DevSecOps pipelines to support continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) of cloud-hosted applications and services
- Automate system configuration, patching, and monitoring using:
- PowerShell
- Cloud-native automation tools (e.g., Azure Automation, OCI Resource Manager, Lambda/Functions)
- Configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, DSC)
- Ensure cloud-hosted systems meet DoD RMF, STIG, and Impact Level (IL2–IL6) compliance requirements
- Support cross-domain and multi-security-level integrations involving data flows between tactical, on-prem, and cloud environments
- Monitor cloud system health, performance, and availability using cloud-native observability tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, OCI Monitoring, CloudWatch if applicable)
- Troubleshoot integration issues across multi-vendor and multi-cloud ecosystems in real time, ensuring mission continuity and resilience
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as technical lead for cloud integration and system administration across AC2SP, Azure, OCI, and related cloud environments supporting Army missions.
- Develop and maintain cloud system architecture artifacts, including:
- Cloud reference architectures
- Data flow diagrams
- Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
- Lead integration of geospatial platforms (e.g., ArcGIS Enterprise) into cloud-hosted and hybrid environments, ensuring secure access and optimized performance.
- Configure and manage:
- Virtual machines, containers, and platform services in Azure/OCI
- Identity and Access Management (IAM) in Azure AD and OCI, including:
- Role-based access control (RBAC)
- Conditional access and security policies
- Networking in the cloud:
- VNets, subnets, NSGs, gateways
- Hybrid connectivity (VPN, ExpressRoute, FastConnect)
- Support cloud landing zone implementation and sustainment for Army and DoD environments.
- Implement automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as:
- Terraform
- Azure Resource Manager (ARM templates)
- OCI Resource Manager (Terraform-based)
- Apply PowerShell and REST API integrations for:
- Cloud resource orchestration
- Diagnostics and remediation
- Automated governance and compliance checks
- Ensure compliance with:
- Risk Management Framework (RMF)
- DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
- DoD Cloud SRG (Impact Levels IL2–IL6)
- Provide technical input for AC2SP and Army cloud migration planning and execution, including assessments of readiness, risk, and performance.
- Deliver executive-level updates on cloud integration progress, risks, and system readiness.
- Operate effectively under time-sensitive conditions, providing executive-ready briefings, updates, and status reports to leadership and stakeholders.
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
Years of Experience: 10+ years of experience in systems administrator, engineering, and integration supporting large-scale system sustainability. 5+ years of related DoD, Military, or US Government related experience.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in cloud system administration and integration for mission-critical environments, preferably Army/DoD.
- Knowledge of secure DevSecOps principles and CI/CD pipelines supporting rapid, secure capability deployment in cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience building, administering, and securing workloads in:
- Microsoft Azure (Azure Government strongly preferred)
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- AC2SP or similar DoD cloud initiatives
- Strong scripting expertise, including:
- PowerShell
- Bash/Python (for multi-platform and automation tasks)
- Experience integrating automation with:
- Cloud APIs (Azure, OCI, AWS where applicable)
- Monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, OCI Monitoring, SIEM platforms)
- Configuration management systems (e.g., Ansible, DSC, SCCM)
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Knowledge of secure DevSecOps principles and CI/CD pipelines supporting rapid capability deployment.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and secure DevSecOps practices.
- Strong scripting expertise.
