Job Description

Purpose of the role

To build and maintain the systems that collect, store, process, and analyse data, such as data pipelines, data warehouses and data lakes to ensure that all data is accurate, accessible, and secure. 

Accountabilities

• Build and maintenance of data architectures pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete and consistent data.
• Design and implementation of data warehoused and data lakes that manage the appropriate data volumes and velocity and adhere to the required security measures.
• Development of processing and analysis algorithms fit for the intended data complexity and volumes.
• Collaboration with data scientist to build and deploy machine learning models.

To be successful as a Cloud Data Engineer, you should have experience with:

• Strong experience with Git, GitLab, and GitLab CI/CD pipeline development.
• Proficiency in Python and Shell Scripting.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
• Strong hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Elastic Stack, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with AWS services and cloud-native deployment models.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

• Experience in Cards Issuing platforms such as TSYS, Mastercard, Visa, Rewards, Loyalty, or Customer Servicing systems.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, or Infrastructure Automation.
• Strong hands-on expertise in GitLab CI/CD, Python, Shell Scripting, Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
• Experience with Amazon EKS, Rancher, or RKE2.
• Exposure to Databricks, Airflow, data engineering, or analytics platforms.
