Salary: £25,877.80 - £34,240.03 per annum

About the Role

We’re looking for a compassionate and engaging Children and Young Adults Interventions Worker to support children, young adults and their families affected by drug and alcohol use.

You’ll provide person-centred support through assessments, one-to-one and group interventions, helping young people reduce harm, make informed choices and achieve positive outcomes.

A key part of the role will involve outreach, education and early engagement. You’ll deliver training and awareness sessions to professionals, parents and carers, alongside workshops, assemblies and drop-in sessions within schools and community settings.

What You’ll Do

• Deliver engaging one-to-one and group interventions to children and young adults.

• Complete assessments, support plans and risk and safeguarding assessments.

• Use creative approaches to engage young people and support them throughout their journey.

• Provide advice and interventions that reduce drug and alcohol-related harm.

• Deliver training, workshops and awareness sessions to professionals, parents and carers.

• Provide outreach in schools and community settings, including drop-ins, assemblies and workshops, and promote the service at community events and information stands.

• Work collaboratively with families, schools, professionals and partner organisations to provide joined-up support.

To Succeed in This Role, You’ll Need:

• Experience delivering one-to-one and/or group interventions.

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, particularly when working with children, young adults and families.

• An understanding of interventions and approaches that support positive behaviour change.

• Confidence engaging with professionals, parents, carers and community partners.

• An understanding of safeguarding and the ability to identify and respond appropriately to risk.

• Knowledge of substance misuse, harm reduction or recovery approaches would be advantageous.

• A full UK driving licence, access to a car and appropriate business-use insurance are required for this role due to the outreach and community-based nature of the position.
