Position Overview:
Greenlife Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to join a Federally Qualified Health Center in Paterson, NJ. Reporting to the CEO, the CMO provides executive and clinical leadership for the health center's medical services and patient care programs. The CMO is responsible for building and leading a high-performing medical team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, professional growth, and patient-centered care. The CMO has clinical authority and accountability for all clinical staff.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Doctor of Medicine from an accredited institution, with completion of an accredited residency program.
- Licensure: Active and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state, or eligibility for licensure, and current CDS and DEA registration.
- Certification: Current board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, or another specialty relevant to the patient population served.
- Experience: Minimum of three years of clinical leadership experience in a role such as medical director, associate chief medical officer, site medical director, or department chief. Documented experience supervising and evaluating clinical providers, including the management of at least one serious performance matter.
- Technical Skills: Working knowledge of quality improvement methodology and demonstrated ability to interpret and act on clinical performance data.
- Soft Skills: Strong executive leadership, communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills. Ability to drive organizational change and foster a culture of accountability and professional growth.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center, community health center, or comparable safety net setting.
- Working knowledge of HRSA Health Center Program requirements, UDS reporting, FTCA, Patient Centered Medical Home standards, and the 340B Drug Pricing Program.
- Documented experience leading a care model or workflow change that was sustained beyond the incumbent's direct involvement.
- Proficiency in Spanish or another language spoken by the patient population served.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide executive and clinical leadership for all medical services and patient care programs.
- Supervise, coach, and evaluate all clinical providers, including physicians, advanced practice providers, dental providers, and behavioral health clinicians.
- Lead provider recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, and professional development.
- Oversee clinical credentialing, privileging, peer review, and scope-of-practice determinations.
- Establish and maintain productivity standards and conduct monthly performance reviews with providers.
- Lead clinical quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with HRSA, FTCA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Serve as clinical sponsor for organizational change and clinical transformation initiatives.
- Maintain an active patient panel and provide direct patient care within the scope of board certification.
- Serve on the executive leadership team and present clinical performance matters to the Board of Directors.
- Represent the interests of clinical staff in executive decision-making.
