The Dermatology Service

The Dermatology Service is an internationally recognized group of faculty with expertise in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and research of skin cancers and skin toxicities related to cancer therapies. The Service faculty provides comprehensive care for patients with melanoma, non-melanoma skin cancers, rare cutaneous malignancies, and dermatologic complications arising from cancer treatment. The Service is distinguished by its multidisciplinary approach to care, partnering closely with colleagues across Medical Oncology, Surgical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Pathology, Radiology, Plastic Surgery, Immunology, and other clinical specialties to deliver personalized care for patients throughout the cancer continuum. Faculty are internationally recognized leaders in reflectance confocal microscopy, digital dermoscopy, three-dimensional total body photography, artificial intelligence applications in dermatology, and other emerging technologies that advance the early detection and management of skin cancer.

The Service Chief will report to the Head of the Division of Subspecialty Medicine and will provide strategic, clinical, academic, and operational leadership for the Dermatology Service. The Chief will be responsible for advancing the Service's clinical excellence, research portfolio, educational mission, faculty development, philanthropy, and impact on the management of cutaneous malignancies and dermatologic manifestations of cancer and its treatment worldwide.

Faculty are pioneering advances in non-invasive imaging, digital diagnostics, AI-assisted skin cancer detection, and management of dermatologic toxicities associated with novel cancer therapies.  The successful candidate will have outstanding opportunities to develop collaborative research programs spanning clinical trials, imaging technologies, artificial intelligence, implementation science, and translational investigations that improve the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of skin cancers and dermatologic complications of cancer therapy.

The Service Chief will foster collaborations across MSK's research enterprise to expand investigator-initiated clinical trials, translational science, implementation research, and technology development.

6. Education, and Faculty Development: Strengthen the Service's translational, clinical, and population science research portfolio while expanding educational programs, including our multiple fellowships, residency training, visiting scholars, and multidisciplinary educational initiatives.
