We are looking for an experienced CG Supervisor to join our growing animation studio in London. In this role, you are responsible to design & implement our creative & technical workflows that enable the creative vision for in-game cinematics, short form content and animated features. You are particularly experienced with look-development for animated feature films, and understand how the various departments contribute to the process to achieve visual excellence.

Responsibilities

Working closely with the VFX Supervisor & Art team to understand their vision for the look of the film, and design methodologies to get the CG team there

Collaborate with the Technology team to purchase or build necessary tooling

Day-to-Day lead the Surfacing / Lighting / Compositing teams to ensure they have what they need and achieve the desired creative output

Streamline Workflows, Quality checks and Reviews to accelerate inventory flow & iteration on a feature film scale

Ensure high quality, render-efficient assets & lighting setups

Work with Production and Creative Leadership on Staffing & resource requirements: particularly for look-related domains & render requirements

Educate Artists and the wider team on evolving workflows

Requirements

Deep understanding of feature-animation-scale lookdev & lighting workflows

Expertise in key tools like Houdini (Solaris), Maya or Blender as well as shading & rendering in Renderman

Experience in designing for iteration: Multishot workflows, proceduralism, automation

Understanding of USD and how various teams contribute to the render scene

Background in Lookdev or Lighting favourable

Experience with AYON, Shader Writing, C++, and AI is a plus

Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines

Experience working with both internal teams and external vendors

Appreciation and understanding of teamwork

Passion for storytelling, and animation
