The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking a resident C-UAS Operations & Training Advisor to support AFRICOM by providing theater-level Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS), Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD), intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), and C5ISR operational expertise in support of U.S. Department of War and joint force requirements.

The successful candidate will serve as a senior operational advisor capable of engaging General Officers, senior military leaders, higher headquarters, and interagency partners while translating complex C-UAS and C5ISR requirements into executable operational plans, training programs, exercises, and theater-level solutions.

This position requires a combination of tactical C-UAS expertise, operational planning experience, UAS technical knowledge, instructional capability, and demonstrated understanding of military command-and-control processes. The candidate will independently develop operational documentation, advise theater organizations, lead joint forums, oversee Mobile Training Teams (MTTs), and evaluate the effectiveness of C-UAS training and operational procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate joint and interagency forums, brief General Officers and senior leaders, and provide recommendations that support theater-level operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP) to develop and review operational products, including Task Orders, Concepts of Operations (CONOPs), Requests for Forces (RFFs), Requests for Support (RFSs), Execute Orders (EXORDs), and supporting planning documentation.
  • Independently analyze operational requirements and translate commander and staff guidance into executable plans, training objectives, operational assessments, and recommendations.
  • Apply a detailed understanding of the Department of War operational and organizational environment to respond to C-UAS and IAMD Requests for Information (RFIs), identify capability gaps, and develop practical solutions.
  • Advise, assess, and improve Base Defense Operations Cell (BDOC) procedures for UAS detection, identification, tracking, reporting, command and control, and centralized situational awareness.
  • Provide technical and operational instruction on the integration, establishment, employment, and sustainment of ISR collection platforms and C5ISR capabilities.
  • Develop and deliver instruction concerning adversary UAS flight profiles, including ISR, loitering, reconnaissance, one-way attack, and other emerging threat employment techniques.
  • Develop technically oriented training and exercise programs integrating UAS collection platforms, C-UAS capabilities, intelligence production, sensor employment, and reporting procedures.
  • Coordinate training and exercise activities with higher headquarters, supported commands, government organizations, external agencies, and partner organizations to ensure operational alignment and interoperability.
  • Lead, mentor, and provide operational guidance to Mobile Training Teams (MTTs) operating throughout the African Area of Responsibility.
  • Oversee MTT execution of C-UAS training, BDOC operations, Live Fire Exercises (LFX), operational assessments, and Red Air threat replication.
  • Ensure training scenarios, adversary flight profiles, and Red Air employment accurately reflect current and emerging UAS threat profiles and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs).
  • Evaluate theater training programs and operational procedures to identify capability gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Leverage extensive tactical experience and advanced C-UAS expertise to implement continuous process and operational improvements across theater training and exercise programs.
  • Provide senior-level mentorship to trainers, planners, operators, and supporting personnel to improve technical proficiency and operational effectiveness.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging UAS technologies, adversary capabilities, C-UAS systems, ISR technologies, and changes to operational doctrine and TTPs.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Active Top Secret security clearance.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting U.S. military operations, joint forces, or Department of War organizations.
  • Advanced understanding of C-UAS operations, UAS employment, threat profiles, and adversary TTPs.
  • Demonstrated understanding and practical application of the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP).
  • Experience developing operational documents, including CONOPs, Task Orders, RFFs, RFSs, EXORDs, operational assessments, and briefing materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to brief and communicate effectively with senior military leadership and General Officer-level audiences.
  • Technical understanding of Group 1–3 UAS platforms, sensors, payloads, mission planning, flight operations, and supporting systems.
  • Hands-on experience instructing personnel on UAS and/or C-UAS systems and operational procedures.
  • Advanced knowledge of UAS threat device profiles, flight characteristics, employment techniques, and TTPs.
  • Experience developing and executing military training and exercises, preferably involving UAS, C-UAS, ISR, BDOC, or C5ISR capabilities.
  • Ability to independently analyze complex operational requirements and develop effective solutions with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout the African AOR and other CONUS/OCONUS locations as mission requirements dictate.
  • Active FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate for Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems.

Desired:

  • Special Operations Forces (SOF) experience.
  • Senior military leadership, staff, or operational planning experience.
  • Experience supporting Combatant Commands, Theater Army, Joint Task Forces, or Service Component Commands.
  • Experience working within air defense, IAMD, C-UAS, ISR, C5ISR, or force protection organizations.
  • Experience operating or instructing on commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) UAS platforms.
  • Experience conducting or supporting Red Air threat replication and UAS adversary emulation.
  • Experience planning and executing Live Fire Exercises (LFX), collective training events, and operational assessments.
  • Experience advising or evaluating BDOC, command-and-control, sensor integration, or centralized reporting processes.
  • Experience coordinating military training and exercises with higher headquarters, interagency organizations, coalition partners, and external agencies.
