Business Development Manager
Reports To: Regional Sales Manager
Position Summary
The Director of Business Development is responsible for driving revenue growth, strengthening strategic client relationships, elevating the Opustone brand, and enhancing customer experience across all South Florida locations. This role serves as a key ambassador of the company, developing and managing relationships with top accounts, architects, designers, developers, builders, fabricators, and other industry influencers while working closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Leadership.
The Director of Business Development is accountable for generating measurable sales opportunities, increasing market share, protecting key client relationships, coaching sales teams on relationship development, and ensuring all client interactions reflect Opustone's luxury brand standards. This position plays a critical role in translating marketing initiatives, events, partnerships, and networking efforts into revenue-generating opportunities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Business Development & Revenue Growth
- Develop and execute business development strategies to increase sales across Opustone’ s Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach locations.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the architecture, interior design, builder, developer, hospitality, and luxury residential sectors.
- Grow revenue from existing strategic accounts while developing new high-value relationships.
- Partner with showroom sales teams to identify opportunities and convert prospects into active customers.
- Generate a qualified pipeline of projects and opportunities that contribute directly to company revenue goals.
- Participate in customer meetings, property visits, project presentations, and specification discussions.
- Assist with securing product specifications during the early stages of project development.
- Track business development activities, opportunities, and sales outcomes through company reporting systems.
Strategic Account Management
- Serve as executive liaison for Opustone’ s top accounts and key industry partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with architects, designers, developers, builders, and fabricators throughout South Florida.
- Conduct regular client visits to maintain engagement and identify business opportunities.
- Develop account growth plans for strategic and high-volume customers.
- Facilitate coordination between clients and internal teams to ensure project success.
- Maintain awareness of client needs, market trends, and competitive activities.
- Support customer retention efforts through proactive relationship management and service recovery.
Customer Experience Leadership
- Act as the internal advocate for the customer experience across all South Florida locations.
- Evaluate customer touchpoints and recommend improvements that enhance the luxury client experience.
- Work with showroom leadership to ensure consistent execution of Opustone's service standards.
- Protect and elevate the Opustone brand through exceptional customer interactions.
- Assist with resolving escalated customer concerns and relationship-sensitive situations.
- Monitor customer feedback and identify opportunities for service improvements.
- Ensure that all client-facing experiences align with the company's premium positioning.
Sales Team Coaching & Relationship Development
- Collaborate with sales representatives and showroom managers to strengthen customer engagement strategies.
- Mentor sales teams on relationship-building, networking, consultative selling, and luxury client engagement.
- Support sales representatives in developing and maintaining high-value accounts.
- Participate in account strategy discussions and project reviews.
- Share industry insights, market intelligence, and business development best practices with the sales team.
- Assist management in identifying growth opportunities within existing account portfolios.
Marketing & Brand Development
- Partner closely with the Marketing Department to strengthen Opustone's brand presence within the design and construction communities.
- Assist in developing content, presentations, client success stories, and educational programs.
- Review marketing initiatives to ensure brand consistency and alignment with sales objectives.
- Support strategic partnerships, collaborations, and client-focused campaigns.
- Participate in the development of social media, digital, and promotional initiatives that drive client engagement.
- Ensure marketing activities contribute to measurable business development and sales opportunities.
Industry Events & Community Engagement
- Coordinate and participate in trade events, networking functions, product launches, CEU presentations, designer programs, and industry associations.
- Assist in planning and executing customer appreciation events and showroom activations.
- Represent Opustone at industry functions and professional organizations.
- Develop strategic opportunities for Opustone to increase visibility within the South Florida design and construction community.
- Build partnerships that enhance brand awareness and support business growth objectives.
- Work with the Marketing Department to maximize event ROI and lead generation.
Presentation Development & Industry Education
- Create and deliver presentations for architects, designers, developers, builders, and other industry professionals.
- Assist in the development of educational and product training programs.
- Conduct presentations highlighting product categories, design trends, project applications, and industry best practices.
- Support the company's position as a trusted resource within the luxury surfacing and design industry.
Performance Expectations
Success in this role will be measured through:

Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in business development, account management, sales leadership, luxury products, design, architecture, construction, or related industries.
- Established network within the South Florida architecture, interior design, builder, developer, and luxury residential communities preferred.
- Proven track record of developing business and increasing revenue.
- Strong presentation, communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, and operations.
- Ability to coach, influence, and collaborate without direct supervisory authority.
- Professional presence appropriate for executive-level client interactions.
- Strong organizational, planning, and follow-through skills.
