Engagement Overview

Inflect is engaging an independent Backend Engineer Consultant in Brazil through Rippling (acting as a Contractor of Record) to build, deliver, and maintain provider adapters and gateway backend services that onboard new supply providers into the marketplace. This is an autonomous, high-impact consulting engagement focused on API integration architecture, Go backend service delivery, and supporting the migration from bespoke adapters toward self-serve provider onboarding workflows.

Working as an external subject matter expert, you will provide technical execution across the Integrations & Gateway surface, ensuring our marketplace supply ingestion, pricing engines, and adapter services run with high availability, observability, and automated resiliency.

Specialized Technical Capabilities Required

• Backend & API Integration Mastery: 3–5 years of professional backend development with production expertise in Go (or strong adjacent languages with a rapid ramp to Go), REST/API integrations, Postgres, Redis, and cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Adapter & Tooling Engineering: Practical experience building provider adapters, schema mapping tools, validation guardrails, and message-queue/event-driven architectures.
• Modern Integration Stack (Node/TS & LLMs): Exposure to Node.js/TypeScript backend tooling, LLM/agent integration frameworks, and GUI tooling to support self-serve adapter automation.
• Cross-Border Async Collaboration: Fluent professional English communication skills for effective cross-border async collaboration, code reviews, and daily alignment across Brazil, Poland, and US time zones.

Scope of Services & Project Deliverables

• Gateway & Adapter Service Delivery: Architect, build, and maintain Go-based backend services and provider adapters for network, bare-metal/GPU, and data providers (live pricing and availability).
• Self-Serve Onboarding Frameworks: Contribute to schema mapping frameworks, GUI tooling, validation guardrails, and LLM-assisted integration frameworks that allow non-engineers to onboard providers with minimal overhead.
• Adapter Maintenance & Observability: Own assigned adapter surfaces end-to-end under pod technical standards, delivering well-tested, highly observable services while maintaining existing adapter logic.
• Cross-Pod Alignment: Collaborate asynchronously across distributed functions (Design, QA, Data Foundation) to deliver reliable gateway integrations with US business hours overlap.
• Technical Advisory & Standards: Conduct code reviews, pull-request assessments, and technical documentation updates to uphold engineering quality across the pod.

Definition of Success (What Strong Performance on Projects Looks Like)

• Production provider integrations and adapters are independently shipped and operating reliably in production.
• At least one new supply provider group (network, bare-metal/GPU, or data) is successfully onboarded into the marketplace.
• Self-serve onboarding frameworks and GUI/validation tooling measurably reduce manual engineering effort per provider.
• An end-to-end slice of the gateway is reliably owned, well-tested, and maintained under pod technical standards.

Engagement Terms & Compliance Structure

• Contract Type & Rate: Fixed-rate monthly Independent B2B Service Agreement executed via Rippling, $5,000-$6,500/mo based on experience
• Invoicing & Tax Compliance: Contractor must maintain an active corporate entity (Pessoa Jurídica - PJ / CNPJ) in Brazil and upload valid electronic service invoices (Nota Fiscal de Serviços Eletrônica - NFS-e) into Rippling for monthly disbursement.
• Autonomy: Complete flexibility over work schedules, location, and execution methods necessary to fulfill project deliverables and agreed milestones; holds no direct people-management, hiring, or employee reporting lines.
• Commercial Relationship: Strictly B2B consulting engagement; no employment relationship under the Consolidation of Labor Laws (CLT), paid vacation, 13th salary, or statutory employee benefit guarantees implied.
