We are looking for a skilled and motivated Backend Engineer with 3–6 years of experience to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on expertise in Python and MongoDB, with a solid understanding of backend architecture, API development, database management, and scalable application design.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining reliable backend services and APIs that power our applications. This role requires strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with frontend engineers, product managers, and other technical stakeholders.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance backend applications using Python.
• Build and maintain robust RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Work extensively with MongoDB, including database design, schema modeling, queries, indexing, and performance optimization.
• Develop clean, maintainable, reusable, and well-documented code.
• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective backend solutions.
• Integrate backend services with internal systems, third-party APIs, and other external services.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, bugs, and production issues.
• Implement appropriate validation, error handling, logging, and security practices across backend services.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure application reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product teams, QA engineers, and other stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
• Monitor application performance and contribute to continuous improvements in scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely solutions in development and production environments.

Must-Have Skills

Python: Strong proficiency in Python with hands-on experience building backend applications, services, and APIs.

MongoDB: Strong practical knowledge of MongoDB, including data modeling, CRUD operations, aggregation pipelines, indexing, query optimization, and database performance.

Backend Development: Strong understanding of backend architecture, API design, authentication, application security, and software development principles.

Problem Solving: Ability to analyze complex technical problems, identify root causes, and develop efficient and scalable solutions.

Software Engineering: Good understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, version control, testing, and clean coding practices.

Good-to-Have Skills

HTML: Basic to intermediate understanding of HTML and web application fundamentals, enabling effective collaboration with frontend teams and better understanding of end-to-end application flows.

Experience with cloud platforms, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, Git, Docker, or other modern development tools will be an added advantage.

Qualifications & Experience

• 3–6 years of professional experience in Backend Development or Software Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python and MongoDB.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
• Good understanding of databases and distributed application concepts.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication, debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
