UOB Innovation Hub 2 (InnoHub2) is a UOB-wholly owned subsidiary and a Centre of Excellence based in Malaysia, providing Group Business Services (GBS) to support the UOB Group. Job Summary**
The Assistant Vice President (AVP), Wholesale AFC - BB AML/KYC, will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) processes within the Wholesale Banking division, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies for business banking clients.
Job Responsibilities**
* Develop, implement, and maintain robust AML/KYC policies, procedures, and controls specific to the Wholesale Banking business banking segment.
* Conduct thorough reviews and analysis of client onboarding and periodic review cases, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and identifying potential financial crime risks.
* Oversee and manage a team of AML/KYC analysts, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
* Act as a subject matter expert for AML/KYC matters, providing advice and support to front office teams and other stakeholders.
* Collaborate with various internal departments, including Compliance, Legal, and Operations, to ensure a cohesive approach to financial crime risk management.
* Lead or participate in projects related to AML/KYC system enhancements, process improvements, and new regulatory requirements.
* Prepare and present reports on AML/KYC performance, risks, and issues to senior management and relevant committees.
* Stay updated on evolving AML/CFT regulations, industry best practices, and emerging financial crime typologies.
* Manage regulatory inquiries and internal audit reviews related to AML/KYC within the Wholesale Banking BB portfolio.
Job Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Law, or a related field. Professional certifications such as ACAMS, ICA, or equivalent are highly preferred.
* Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in financial crime compliance, with a strong focus on AML/KYC within the wholesale or corporate banking sector, specifically with business banking clients.
* In-depth knowledge of AML/CFT laws, regulations, and guidelines (e.g., FATF recommendations, local regulatory requirements).
* Proven experience in managing and leading a team of AML/KYC professionals.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a keen eye for detail.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* Proficiency in using AML/KYC systems and tools.
* Strong understanding of banking products and services relevant to business banking.
