Job Description Summary

The Political Science Department at Miami University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Public Law and/or Judicial Politics. This is a full-time, tenure-track position that will begin at the start of the academic year in August 2027.

Job Description

The successful candidate will teach courses in American constitutional law, civil rights and liberties, and a capstone or elective course in the candidate’s area of expertise for the undergraduate major; advise students; conduct relevant research leading to a record of published scholarship; and provide institutional and professional service, as part of Miami University’s teacher-scholar model.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required: Doctorate in political science, or a closely related field completed by December 31, 2027 for re-appointment to a second year.
