The Department of Finance at The Ohio State University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor (tenure-track) of Finance to begin Autumn 2027. We welcome and will consider all applications, but we will focus our search especially on the areas where we have recruiting needs, which are microstructure, and behavioral finance.


All courses are taught in person on the University’s main campus in Columbus, Ohio.

 

Immigration/visa sponsorship may be available in very limited situations (e.g., F1/OPT to H-1b, H-1b change of employer), but all decisions concerning immigration/visa sponsorship will depend on an evaluation of complexity and risk.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Candidates for Assistant Professor should have a Ph.D. in finance or economics or expect to complete a Ph.D. in the near future. Priority areas for recruiting are microstructure and behavioral finance. Candidates should demonstrate the potential for outstanding achievement in research and teaching.

 

Additional Information:

Assistant Professors in this department currently have a base salary of $289,000-$305,000. The offer for this position will be based on internal equity and the candidate's qualifications.

The College:

Fisher College of Business has a rich research tradition and engages through the college and the Graduate School in programs at the undergraduate, master and doctoral levels. The nationally ranked Fisher College of Business is one of 15 colleges within the university, with approximately 10,000 undergraduate and 1,200 graduate students.

The Department of Finance houses faculty specializing in financial economics, business law, and insurance. Our over 20 faculty members are internationally known researchers and teachers. We provide a vibrant research and teaching atmosphere, characterized by extensive collaboration with a shared goal of conducting leading-edge research and providing students with the skills they need to succeed in the field of finance.
