About this opportunity:

The Department of Mathematical Sciences is seeking applicants for a full-time non-tenure line faculty position as Assistant Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor of Mathematical Sciences (Mathematics Education Specialization) beginning August 16, 2027.

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

What you'll do and what you will bring:

Duties and Responsibilities:

Teaching approximately 12 credits per term of mathematics education courses and other courses depending on Department need and applicant qualifications, including core curriculum courses such as quantitative reasoning.  Pursue a program of professional development and perform service activities for the Department.  Evidence of high-quality teaching, continuing professional development, and significant service are necessary to be eligible for reappointment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in mathematics education or closely related field from an accredited institution by date of appointment, with at least 18 graduate semester hours of coursework in mathematics; current or previous teaching licensure or certification; at least two years of K-12 teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Teaching experience at the college level in undergraduate classes.  Doctorate degree in mathematics education with experience or interest teaching online.  Interest in partnerships with local schools.  Demonstrated capacity to work with diverse students as well as to prepare future educators to work with diverse populations.A
