POSITION SPECIFICS
Penn State is currently seeking a frontline fundraiser in the role of Assistant/Associate Director of Development to engage alumni and friends as partners in supporting the College of Arts & Architecture. As a member of the Division of Development and Alumni Relations (DDAR), you can play an integral role in Penn State’s future and contribute to one of the most successful fundraising and alumni relations operations in the country.
Reporting to the Director of Development and Alumni Relations and working closely with the college’s leadership, as well as other partners and central development offices, this Assistant/Associate Director of Development will:
- Identify and cultivate a prospect pool of graduates and other key constituencies;
- Articulate Penn State’s needs, ambitions, and values through excellent informal and formal communications, including written proposals;
- Plan and execute solicitation strategies leading to major gifts;
- Travel extensively throughout the region and across the country to pursue these strategies and build enduring relationships, tracked to a fixed and appropriately aggressive set of fundraising metrics.
The successful candidate will have:
- A track record of success in securing major gifts and meeting fundraising goals;
- Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills required to build relationships with sophisticated and high-net worth audiences;
- The ability to create and maintain an inclusive and respectful environment for all students and colleagues;
- A proven ability to self-motivate and work both independently and as part of a team;
- A commitment to professional development, learning, and being mentored.

The College of Arts & Architecture
The College of Arts & Architecture is a comprehensive arts community including academic programs in music, theatre, visual arts, graphic design, art history, architecture and landscape architecture, a center for the performing arts, and a university art museum. There are approximately 1,714 graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in the college, both at University Park and World Campus. The college offers undergraduate and graduate programs in the School of Music, the School of Theatre, Penn State School of Visual Arts, and the Department of Art History; as well as the departments of Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and Graphic Design, which are housed in the H. Campbell and Eleanor R. Stuckeman School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture. The college also includes the Center for the Performing Arts, the Palmer Museum of Art, Penn State Centre Stage and Penn's Woods Music Festival, which collectively serve as important cultural resources that provide educational engagement programs for Penn State and area communities. In addition, the college is home to a number of research centers, institutes, and initiatives, which foster a vibrant culture of inquiry that promotes excellence within the arts and design disciplines, while at the same time leveraging the potential of a comprehensive research university. The college is housed in sixteen buildings on the University Park campus. It includes performance spaces, gallery/exhibition spaces, a lighting and design lab, computer labs, special subject libraries, specialized studios, and a stage lighting archive.

SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $59,580.00 - $108,444.00.
