The Analyst Experience

Analysts receive a competitive compensation and benefits package, along with opportunities for professional development, mentorship, and meaningful exposure to the firm’s work, including:

• £54,000 per annum, based on a full-time work schedule, plus eligibility for a significant discretionary annual bonus.

Your Impact

Our Analysts are an elite cohort of early-career individuals who gain substantive, hands-on experience supporting complex international civil and criminal financial litigation. As members of case teams, Analysts work alongside lawyers and business professionals, with exposure to client matters, pro bono work, knowledge management and global business development. The work is varied and fast-paced, with responsibilities adapting to the needs of each matter.

We are seeking intellectually curious graduates with strong research, writing, analytical and problem-solving skills. An interest in law, disputes, investigations or financial markets is a plus, but a legal background is not required.

As Analysts progress, they develop highly desirable transferable skills in research and problem-solving, financial and quantitative analysis, project and matter management, and written and verbal communication. These skills open doors across a wide range of careers and industries. Our alumni have gone on to pursue diverse paths, from careers in law and business to opportunities across other industries and professional fields. Those pursuing legal careers have gone on to leading law schools, including Yale, Harvard and Stanford, and secured training contracts with prominent law firms. Key Responsibilities

• Attend court hearings and client meetings under lawyer supervision.

• Support preparation for court appearances (including trials), client meetings, and witness interviews.
• Coordinate with local counsel, experts, investigators and other external service providers in support of cross-border matters.
• Conduct factual and financial analysis in support of complex matters.

• Conduct legal research under lawyer supervision.

• Draft court documents under lawyer supervision.

• Review and analyse disclosure and legal documents under lawyer supervision.
• Manage day-to-day case and matter administration.
• Prepare lawyer and client binders.
• Maintain case and firm information systems.

Career Development

Analysts join the firm as Analyst I and, after their first year, may pursue opportunities, including advancement to Analyst II, leadership roles, specialisation in practice areas, and potential transfers to other departments or offices worldwide. Advancement is based on performance, skill development, contributions to the team, quality of work and ability to take on increasing responsibility.

*SQE and Qualifying Work Experience:

Candidates pursuing the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) route and seeking qualifying work experience (QWE) are welcome to apply. Work undertaken in this role may qualify as QWE, depending on the nature of the legal services provided and the applicable Solicitors Regulation Authority requirements and confirmation process. Candidates should not assume that all work performed in the role will qualify as QWE.

This programme is not a training contract and should not be regarded as an equivalent route to qualification.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in Kobre & Kim’s work and commitment to remain with the firm for a minimum of two years. (required)
• First or upper second-class honours degree from a UK university, or equivalent academic achievement from an overseas institution. (required)
• Graduates from all academic disciplines are encouraged to apply, including STEM, finance, social sciences and humanities.
• A law degree, law conversion course, BCL, LLM or SQE study is welcomed but not required. Candidates from non-law backgrounds, as well as those qualified in another jurisdiction or considering the SQE route, are encouraged to apply.

• Ability to work outside standard business hours as needed, including late nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on assignments.
• Excellent teamwork, organization, project management, and attention to detail, with creative and anticipatory thinking skills.
• Strong work ethic, proactivity, and ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional proficiency in one or more additional languages is a plus: Korean, Spanish, Russian, Portuguese, Hebrew, Mandarin, Cantonese, French, Arabic, German, Italian, and Japanese.
