Description
PingWind is seeking an AI Software Architect with a strong emphasis on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to join the PingWind team supporting Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s (AHRQ) Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning strategy in Rockville, MD. As an AI Software Architect, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of AHRQ applications and products. Your responsibilities will include providing application and feature development leadership, coordinating with developers, developing reusable code to enable rapid development, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software to our stakeholders and users.
Responsibilities
• Provide direction and standards for the team’s AI / ML implementation
• Derive and update Interface Specifications for both inputs and outputs
• Perform design reviews with development teams
• Provide application and feature development leadership, working with the Technical PM and the technical team to plan projects for the team
• Coordinate and lead Developers and DBAs during development, enhancement, and ongoing maintenance of enterprise applications
• Participate in Agile scrum ceremonies to facilitate development and hold team accountable to product roadmap
• Collaborate with stakeholders and users in requirement development and BPR activities
• Develop reusable code to enable rapid development
• Support effective continuous integration pipelines
• Write clean, efficient, and scalable code following best practices
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize application performance
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards
• Design and Implement security and data protection measures
• Document technical specifications and development processes
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends
• Provide cross training and mentorship for developers on industry standards and best practices
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field
• 10 years of relevant experience
• Artificial intelligence and machine learning engineering
• Generative AI and large language models
• AI solution architecture and systems engineering
• AI/ML prototyping, testing, evaluation, performance assessment, and monitoring
• Integration and deployment of AI/ML capabilities within approved cloud, application, and infrastructure environments
• Responsible AI, information security, privacy, documentation, and technical risk management
• Experience implementing AI solutions
• 10 years of full-lifecycle application development lead experience
• 10 years of experience using Agile/Lean methodologies, continuous deployment, automated testing, and DevSecOps
• Experience in or knowledge of developing systems utilizing Cloud-native designs
• Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
Preferred Qualifications
• Present proposals to senior government officials in a clear and compelling way
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, C/C++, or others
• Experience applying Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
• Knowledge of database systems and cloud platforms
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet project deadlines
• Attention to detail and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality software

Salary Range
$122k-$170K
