About the FCA and team

We regulate financial services firms in the UK, to keep financial markets fair, thriving and effective. By joining us, you’ll play a key part in protecting consumers, driving economic growth, and shaping the future of UK finance services.

The Data, Technology and Innovation (DTI) division enables the FCA to be a digital-first, data-led smart regulator by delivering a secure, agile, and cost-effective technology and data ecosystem that drives better decisions, transparency, and operational efficiency.

The AI Product Delivery Department (AIPD) exists to transform FCA business processes through AI, safely and at scale. It provides the product-led capability to meet growing organisational demand, moving work from promising AI experiments into live, adopted services. Its operating model combines portfolio and value management, platforms and engineering, and three cross-functional delivery pods focused on Authorisations, Supervision and Enforcement priorities. The AI Products and Delivery Team owns pace, execution and adoption: turning validated business problems into secure products, embedding AI into real workflows, using evaluation, provenance and go-live discipline.

You will turn business-owned problems into adopted, operational AI products. This is a hybrid product-and-delivery role: it owns product direction and delivery execution for one pod, while the business retains ownership of the operational outcome and the Manager of AI Products and Delivery retains portfolio and people accountability.

Role responsibilities

  • Partner with the Business Product Owner and users to define or confirm the problem, target workflow, users, expected value, success measures, constraints and proportionate risk tier ensuring a clear evidence-based case for delivery
  • Shape and manage the roadmap, backlog, discovery, prioritisation, sequencing, dependency management, release planning and day-to-day delivery cadence in coordination with the Portfolio and Value team and Platforms and Engineering Team
  • Coordinate the pod, suppliers, control functions and business stakeholders to deliver products through launch and stabilisation, managing blockers, risks and enterprise dependencies while ensuring sustainable ownership, maintainable assets and effective knowledge transfer
  • Ensure requirements cover workflow integration, human decision roles, evidence and provenance, evaluation, support and service operation, and define appropriate operating boundaries for agentic products, including autonomy levels, approved tools, data usage, human oversight and escalation pathways
  • Ensure that the Business Product Owner owns and maintains the adoption and change plan, covering workflow redesign, user engagement, training, feedback and measurable use
  • Assemble product-readiness evidence, coordinate go-live and post-launch stabilisation, and make evidence-based readiness recommendations
  • Track product outcomes, adoption, quality, cost and operational performance, using evaluation findings and user feedback to drive continuous improvement, while maintaining clear traceability of decisions, assumptions, approvals and lessons learned and contributing reusable delivery practices across AIPD

Skills required

Minimum:

  • Experience delivering AI, data, automation or digital products from discovery or MVP into live operation
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary delivery involving business stakeholders, engineers and suppliers
  • Experience working in a regulated, controlled or otherwise highly accountable environment

Essential:

  • Demonstrated product judgement under constraint, with expertise in prioritisation, scope control and sequencing, and a proven ability to make evidence-based decisions to stop, descale or redirect work where appropriate, as well as successfully delivering products to market
  • A proven track record of embedding products into operational workflows, driving adoption, measurable benefits and sustained business outcomes in addition to releasing features, supported by user research, service design and operational change experience
  • Experienced in leading delivery cadence, governance and stakeholder alignment across business, technology and control functions, with disciplined backlog management, dependency tracking and delivery telemetry that provides clear, real-time visibility of progress, risks, blockers and outcomes
  • Technically literate with the ability to challenge architecture, evaluation approaches and operational trade-offs credibly, while maintaining a product leadership focus rather than acting as the pod’s technical authority
  • Skilled in supplier and partner management, with experience driving outcomes, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and establishing sustainable internal ownership and capability
  • Strong evidence-led decision maker, using operational metrics, evaluation results and user feedback to inform prioritisation, product strategy and continuous improvement
  • Particularly valuable experience includes delivering LLM, RAG, agentic, decision-support and workflow automation products beyond proof-of-concept stage; developing multi-step, tool-using AI systems with end-to-end evaluation covering task completion, tool use, memory and escalation; leading service transition, operational readiness and post-launch operations; and working within financial services, regulated industries, government or complex casework environments
