Liquid Personnel is recruiting a Children’s  Advanced Practitioner to join its client’s  Children in Need team, based in Barnsley. 

Based within the Assessment and Duty Team at Wombwell Police Station, you will work within a short-term Children in Need (CIN) service, undertaking timely, high-quality assessments and delivering focused intervention with children and families.

The team is co-located with the police, enabling effective multi-agency working and decision-making. Any short-term CIN planning required remains allocated to the same worker, ensuring consistency and stability for children and families.

What will your responsibilities be? 

• Complete high-quality assessments that appropriately identify need and risk.
• Manage short-term Children in Need (CIN) plans to support positive outcomes.
• Work directly with children and families to deliver effective interventions.
• Ensure children and young people's voices are central to assessments and planning.
• Make timely decisions in line with statutory requirements and best practice.
• Work collaboratively with partner agencies to safeguard and support children.
• Support a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
• Demonstrate strong practice leadership and contribute to the development of less experienced colleagues.

Working Pattern: 

• Full-time position.
• Hybrid working arrangement.
• Minimum 3 days per week in the office.
• During duty weeks, attendance in the office is required 5 days per week.

Qualifications and Experience: 

We're looking for an experienced and passionate social worker who can demonstrate:

• Significant post-qualified social work experience.
• Experience delivering reflective supervision.
• A commitment to supporting and developing teams and individual practitioners.
• Experience mentoring students, Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSWs), or colleagues.
• Extensive experience working within statutory Children's Social Care.
• A strong track record of progressing plans for vulnerable children and families.
• Excellent partnership-working skills with families and multi-agency professionals.
• Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures and how these are applied in practice.

Essential Requirements: 

• Social Work England registration.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work.
• Significant experience within Children's Social Care.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Full UK driving licence.
