Job Summary:
This position will support the accounting and financial operations of our growing IGS South (SCANA) gas business. This role will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and insight across the business. This role will also contribute to the design and effectiveness of appropriate internal control policies and procedures and ongoing compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Audit
- Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, to include the monthly revenue and cost of gas estimates
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts, ensuring all balances are supported by appropriate documentation.
- Responsible for review and timely submission of payment for monthly supplier commodity invoices and monthly third-party pipeline invoices, including billing issue research and resolution
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial statements in line with GAAP
- Analyze variances and provide explanations to management
- Support external audits by preparing schedules and documentation
Accounts & Transactions
- Process journal entries as directed by the Accounting Manager and monthly reconciliations, as assigned, including but not limited to:
- Sales/Cost of Sales
- Accounts Receivable
- Accrued Purchases
- Accounts Payable
- Bank Reconciliations
- Operating Expenses
Analysis & Stakeholder Support
- Provide support for budgeting/forecasting processes and corporate tax data requests
- Collaborate with partners across different business segments
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation
- Prepare reports for regulatory reporting
Qualifications:
Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA (or working toward) preferred, but not required
Experience
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Utility accounting experience is a plus
Technical Skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Great Plains) and AI tools is a plus

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently without close supervision and collectively with team members, internal and external business partners.

Salary Range:
$61,050.00 - $97,680.00*This range reflects base pay only. Incentive earnings, like commissions or bonuses, are not included.
