OPPORTUNITY
Agriculture: The Account Manager is responsible for driving growth by developing and managing customer relationships while selling fertilizer and agricultural chemical solutions that support customer productivity and long-term success. This role requires a bachelor’s degree, preferably in an agriculture-related field such as agronomy, soil and crop management, crop science, agricultural chemistry, sustainable agriculture, or agriculture with a focus on marketing, economics, or agribusiness.
As Agriculture Account Manager primary responsibilities include:
Business Development & Growth
- Own and execute strategic territory and account plans with minimal direction.
- Consistently secure new business opportunities with higher revenue and margin impact.
- Lead account penetration strategies, including multi‑site and multi‑application growth.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build deep, multi‑level relationships with customer decision‑makers and technical stakeholders.
- Lead structured business reviews and develop action plans to improve performance and prevent issues.
- Anticipate customer needs, identify operational risks, and respond proactively to competitive threats.
Technical & Solution Expertise
- Design and optimize chemical treatment programs leveraging Hydrite’s manufacturing, distribution, and technical capabilities.
- Analyze data to validate performance, troubleshoot complex challenges, and refine treatment approaches.
- Serve as a primary technical resource for medium‑to‑large accounts and support training or mentoring of Account Manager I roles.
Financial & Business Acumen
- Develop detailed forecasts and territory‑level analyses to guide decision‑making.
- Negotiate pricing and defend margins through strategic positioning and value‑based selling.
- Influence internal teams to ensure service continuity, quality, and supply alignment.
Sales Operations
- Maintain timely, accurate CRM records, forecasts, call reports, and documentation.
- Monitor market trends and competitive activity to inform territory strategy.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
- This position reports to the Director of Sales - Agriculture.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL CRITERIA
- College education and prior sales and/or technical experience preferred.
- 5+ years of sales or related technical experience.
- Demonstrated success managing a territory and closing new business independently.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and job‑specific software.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively.
