Job Summary
Schedule: Per DiemA per diem RN must be able to work- 16 shifts every 6 months, 4 need to be weekend shifts.
3 East is a 26-bed medical unit that provides comprehensive care for adult and geriatric patients with a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions. The unit specializes in the management of diagnoses such as congestive heart failure (CHF), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), hypertension (HTN), respiratory illnesses, diabetes, renal disorders, infections, and other complex medical conditions. Our interdisciplinary team delivers patient-centered care focused on clinical excellence, safety, disease management, patient education, and discharge planning. The unit cares for patients requiring ongoing assessment, medication management, telemetry monitoring, respiratory support, and coordination of care to promote recovery and optimize health outcomes.
The Staff Nurse is a professional nurse registered in Massachusetts who is responsible and accountable for planning and providing patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care as set forth in the Nursing Department’s Clinical Practice Manual. Demonstrates initiative, knowledge and clinical skills in caring for the patient with complex needs. Ability to effectively manage patients by assuming full responsibility for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of patient care and is directly responsible to a designated nurse manager, or supervisor. Assures the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in an environment that exemplifies best practice.
Qualifications
- BSN required
- Massachusetts Registered Nurse Licensure required
- BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers preferred
- Medical/surgical experience preferred
- Membership in a professional nursing organization preferred
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Show evidence of the basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients
- Ability to demonstrate observational skills and the ability to set priorities
- Ability to adhere to all I.C.A.R.E. standards
