We are looking for an experienced Workshop Technician with a strong refrigeration background to join our Customer Experience team in Hazelmere.
Your working hours will be 6:00am – 2:30pm Monday-Friday.
This is an opportunity to bring your technical expertise to a premium appliance brand, working in our workshop to diagnose, repair and test major home appliances. Refrigeration will be your primary area of expertise, with the opportunity to broaden your skills across the wider Fisher & Paykel appliance portfolio.
About the role
Working as part of our Workshop team, you’ll diagnose, repair and test major home appliances, ensuring every repair meets our high standards for quality and performance.
Your refrigeration experience will be particularly valuable, while we’ll support you to develop your knowledge across Washing Machines, Dryers, Dishwashers and Stoves.
You’ll evaluate faults, determine the appropriate course of repair, complete quality repairs and fully test products before they leave the workshop. You’ll also continue to build your product knowledge through training, service manuals and hands-on learning.
An important part of the role will be the opportunity to support, guide and teach two apprentices, sharing your practical knowledge and helping develop the next generation of technicians.
What you’ll bring
- Strong experience in appliance repair, fault finding and troubleshooting, ideally 3–5 years.
- A solid refrigeration background and Domestic Refrigerant Handling Licence from ARC Tick.
- Restricted Electrical Workers Licence.
- The ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams and technical documentation.
- A methodical approach to diagnosing faults and completing quality repairs.
- A genuine interest in developing your knowledge across a broad range of major home appliances.
- The confidence and capability to support and develop apprentices.
- A strong commitment to customer service, safety and doing the job right the first time.
Experience servicing Fisher & Paykel Appliances will be highly regarded.
