Annual Compensation Cycle — Configuration and Execution

• Execute and validate pre-launch configurations for the annual compensation cycle across all active processes and eligible populations, reflective of business requirements and in partnership with stakeholders in Compensation and People Operations.
• Generate and update configurable grids, compensation matrices, comp review templates, comp review options, associated security rules, plan profiles, and scorecard configurations prior to cycle launch.
• Execute plan rollouts and removals for eligible populations, validating accuracy across tenants prior to production promotion.
• Collaborate with People Operations to build and validate the custom organizational structure used for the annual compensation cycle, constructing the full hierarchy for approximately 7,500+ employees with matrixed relationships across countries and segments, coordinating iterative corrections and confirming distribution to production.
• Support cycle execution by addressing routine system questions from People Operations and the compensation team, escalating complex or ambiguous issues for internal and/ or external review.
• Participate in and ultimately demonstrate ownership of post-cycle configuration reviews to include the analysis of plan assignments, legacy population management, rule architecture adjustments, and sandbox validation of edge cases prior to production changes.

Workday System Administration: Core and Advanced Compensation

• Execute and validate new and altered configurations for Core and Advanced Compensation, coordinating testing across tenants prior to production promotion.

• Participate as a member of the core release team for Workday's twice-annual releases, supporting the review of new features and regression testing in collaboration with stakeholders within Compensation and the broader HR team. Demonstrate growing ownership of release feature review and regression testing, including assessing impact and defining required practice changes.

• Assist with automated regression testing throughout the year by adjusting test script to align with established practices, assisting with triage, and escalating findings for resolution. Exhibit the ability to independently resolve regression testing findings, partnering with People Operations and vendor partners as needed.
• Support Workday enhancement and ticket lifecycle management in coordination with People Operations and our third-party provider, defining requirements and conducting testing. Grow into confirming production readiness ahead of go-live, partnering with stakeholders as needed.

Security and Compensation Data Visibility

• Support the design, testing, and validation of Workday security and compensation data visibility solutions in collaboration with People Operations and external partners.
• Support ongoing monitoring of security and compensation data visibility settings, including audit reporting, release validation, documentation, and issue identification. Establish self over time as a critical resource by ensuring configurations remain accurate and durable across system releases.

Analytics, Reporting, and Connected Platforms

• Build and support compensation models, analytical tools, and recurring reports used across the team. Establish self as the team's go-to Excel resource, independently building and improving tools that others rely on.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing workflows through better use of Excel, Power Query, and emerging AI tools, bringing genuine curiosity to new approaches and a drive to build competence and confidence with them.
• Contribute to enhancement of reporting and dashboards that improve visibility into pay, equity, and market positioning data.

Required at Hire

• 1-3 years of experience working with Workday, with exposure to Advanced Compensation concepts such as eligibility rules, plan configuration, and configurable grids.
• Familiarity with Workday Core HCM configuration.
• Working knowledge of compensation fundamentals, including incentive plan mechanics, bonus eligibility and accrual logic, pay structures, and job architecture.
• Established understanding of Excel to include Power Query and complex formulas.
• Strong attention to detail, with sound testing, validation, and documentation habits.
• Clear communicator, able to explain system concepts to non-technical HR and business stakeholders.

Developed with Time

• Exposure to Workday release management (feature review, regression testing, issue triage), or an interest in developing this skill set.
• Comfort working independently on moderately complex assignments as scope and familiarity grow.

• Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). Background in Information Systems is a plus.
• Workday certification in Advanced Compensation, or experience working with implementation partners such as Kainos or TopBloc, is an advantage.
