We are looking for an experiencedย Workday Functional Consultantย with strong expertise inย Workday HCM, Absence, and Time Trackingย to support the design, implementation, configuration, enhancement, and optimisation of Workday solutions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR business processes and the ability to translate functional requirements into effective Workday solutions. This role requires close collaboration with HR, business stakeholders, technical teams, and implementation partners to deliver scalable, user-friendly, and compliant HCM solutions.
Requirements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead functional requirements gathering and business process analysis forย Workday HCM, Absence, and Time Tracking.
- Analyse existing HR processes and translate business requirements into scalable Workday solutions.
- Configure and maintain Workday business processes, organisations, security-related functional requirements, and system functionality.
- Implement and supportย Workday Core HCMย processes, including employee lifecycle events, organisational structures, job and position management, and HR transactions.
- Configure and supportย Workday Absence Management, including absence types, eligibility rules, accruals, calendars, validations, and related business processes.
- Configure and supportย Workday Time Tracking, including time entry, time calculations, validations, time-off integration, and approval workflows.
- Conduct workshops with HR, Payroll, HRIS, and business stakeholders to understand functional requirements and process gaps.
- Prepare functional specifications, configuration documentation, process flows, and other project deliverables.
- Design and configure business processes, condition rules, validations, notifications, approvals, and related Workday functionality.
- Support Workday enhancements, releases, change requests, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with technical teams on integrations, data flows, reporting, and downstream system dependencies.
- Participate inย unit testing, system integration testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing.
- Develop test scenarios, analyse defects, coordinate resolution, and ensure successful deployment of functional changes.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and provide timely functional solutions.
- Support data validation, data quality initiatives, and Workday reporting requirements.
- Ensure Workday configurations and business processes align with HR policies, operational requirements, and applicable compliance standards.
- Maintain strong documentation of configurations, processes, decisions, and system changes.
- Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, and implementation partners throughout the Workday lifecycle.
- Support Workday upgrades and assess the impact of new features and functionality on existing business processes.
- Provide functional guidance and knowledge transfer to HRIS teams and business users.
WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT
- 5+ years of experienceย working with Workday as a Functional Consultant, Workday Analyst, HRIS Consultant, or similar role.
- Strong hands-on expertise inย Workday HCM, Absence Management, and Time Tracking.
- Strong understanding of Workday Core HCM business processes and employee lifecycle management.
- Proven experience configuring and supportingย Absenceย functionality, including accruals, eligibility, calendars, and absence-related business processes.
- Strong experience withย Workday Time Tracking, including time entry, calculations, validations, approvals, and integrations with related processes.
- Experience gathering requirements, conducting stakeholder workshops, performing gap analysis, and translating business needs into Workday configurations.
- Strong understanding of Workday business processes, condition rules, validations, approvals, notifications, and security concepts.
- Experience supporting Workday implementations, enhancements, rollouts, or production environments.
- Hands-on experience with functional testing, defect management, UAT, regression testing, and release activities.
- Good understanding of Workday integrations, data flows, reporting, and dependencies with other HR and payroll systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex functional issues.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills with the ability to work effectively with HR, HRIS, Payroll, IT, and business teams.
- Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple requirements, priorities, and projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with geographically distributed or global HR teams is an advantage.
- Workday certifications inย HCM, Absence, Time Tracking, or related functional areasย are highly desirable.
- Bachelor's degree inย Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related disciplineย is preferred.
