The Warehouse Associate/Material Handler assists in the day-to-day activities relating to inventory control functions supporting pharmaceutical fill/finish operations. The main responsibility of this position is to assist with all aspects of logistics such as receiving, shipping, data entry, inventory control, labeling and maintaining all associated cGMP documentation as needed Additional responsibilities include creating and updating log sheets and inventory cards, shipping activities, and all inventory movement functions including updating databases, labeling and maintaining all associated cGMP documentation. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following but other duties may be assigned.

  • Adhere to cGMP guidelines and GDP principles to maintain a high level of integrity and compliance with USP and Annex 1 regulations  

  • Complete all required SOP training and documentation  

  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of shipping and receiving locations ensuring organization, labeling, and segregation of materials based upon current status  

  • Perform incoming receipt of materials by inspecting shipments, verifying proper documentation per internal specifications, storage, and inventory control.  

  • Load and unload trucks using a hand pallet jack  

  • Carefully package critical life altering drugs for final shipment ensuring accuracy, accountability, and safety of the product. Includes using temperature monitoring packaging and devices to ensure product maintains critical attributes per material SDS, IATA, DOT, and dangerous goods requirements   

  • Program and download temperature monitoring devices  

  • Contact, set up, and manage outgoing shipments using approved shipping vendors  

  • Complete inventory transactions in a timely and accurate manner, using paper and computer-based systems  

  • Forklift or PIT certified, or ability to be trained or certified   

  • Operate a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) safely in accordance with company and OSHA requirements 

  • Pick materials for general use and production activities with strong attention to detail for FEFO/FIFO requirements per the Batch Record, then secure and transport them between warehouses efficiently and in an organized manner  

  • Complete required safety walkthroughs, maintaining a high level of safety requirements   

  • Maintain various databases for shipments, receipts, and inventory management in a timely and accurate manner  

  • Maintain expired and non-conforming inventory segregation and destruction based upon SOPs  

  • Drive a box truck on public roads in accordance with all transportation and safety requirements  

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Must adhere to cGMP requirements and safety policies and practices 

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time up to 4 hours without a break 

  • Ability to bend and stoop to grasp objects 

  • Ability to lift loads up to 50 pounds, unassisted 

  • Willing to obtain DOT and IATA training/certification 

  • Able to travel from one facility to another as required  
     

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for the stated position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

  • 0–1+ years of experience in material handling, preferably within a cGMP environment; an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered. 

  • High school Diploma, GED, or equivalent credential required 

  • Previous employment within an FDA/USDA, GMP environment, is preferred 

  • Intermediate computer skills are required 

  • Intermediate verbal and written skills  

  • Strong math skills preferred  

  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and comply with technical and written documents (SOPs) written in English.  

  • Detail oriented, and self-motivated.   

  • Commits to conducting PCI business according to the highest legal and ethical standards, and to continually pursue excellence in all work activities and in the delivery of PCI products and services.   

  • Honesty, integrity, respect and courtesy with leadership and peers    

  • Openly receives and implements feedback, resilient, able to move past mistakes; applies learning  

  • Valid drivers’ license  

  • Previous DOT and IATA training preferred  

  • ERP software experience is a plus (SAP or JDE preferred)
