VP - Corporate Finance Engineering Lead

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Design / execute finance and accounting process automation, improve STP and data accuracy across the finance ecosystem.

• Work with stakeholders to convert requirements into design & engineering specifications aimed at improving Oracle Fusion Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets (FA), General Ledger (GL), and financial reporting processes.

• Implement strong coding standards and engineering practices, produce architecture review documents.

• Develop and maintain corporate finance product roadmaps that align with organizational objectives and drive long-term business goals.

• Manage senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional projects to ensure successful product delivery.

• Oversee end-to-end engineering and technology strategies for firm operations, with an emphasis on integrating accounting and operations systems into a cohesive data warehousing, and reporting framework.

• Thrive in a fast-paced environment, addressing urgent finance close issues with a strong sense of urgency.

Qualifications

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who work well in a team-driven working group, are highly motivated, intelligent, have sound judgment and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.        

The successful candidate must have:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science / engineering, or a related technical domain.

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering or technology operations, with at least 3 years in lead role performing code reviews, problem solving, performance tuning etc.

• Experience in C# / Python would be good.

• Strong analytical skills with experience working with databases and proficiency in SQL.

• Experience with cloud-based systems like Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Snowflake.

• Familiarity with big data techniques and advanced database architecture design.

• Preferably 5 years of experience working on accounting and finance operations technology.

• Familiarity with corporate accounting processes, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets (FA), General Ledger (GL), and financial reporting.

• Strong leadership capabilities, including experience handling teams, and fostering a collaborative work culture.

• Demonstrated effectiveness in dynamic environments with evolving priorities and deadlines, bringing adaptability, sound judgment, and a responsive approach, particularly when addressing time-sensitive finance close issues.
