The Role:
About 70% of our users have never coded before. They are small business owners, solo founders, and operators who had an idea and no engineer to build it with. We are hiring an editor to cut the video that goes out across our social channels. You will edit the short-form video that makes up most of our output on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube: talking-head content, product demos, user stories, interviews, and trend-driven pieces.

Most of our audience is in the US and Europe. The editing conventions we follow are the ones that work on those feeds, so you should be watching what performs there and bringing it into the work. The volume is high and the turnaround is short. Some pieces need to be out within 48 hours of a news or trend moment. This is a full-time role based in Bangalore, reporting to the Head of Brand and Marketing.

What You'll Do:

• Edit short-form video for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and X
• Cut longer interview and demo footage down into both long and short versions
• Build hooks that hold attention through the first three seconds
• Add captions, on-screen text, sound design, and music
• Create simple motion graphics and animated text
• Screen-record and edit product demos so the on-screen action is easy to follow
• Reformat the same piece for different platforms and aspect ratios
• Manage footage, keep project files organised, and maintain a usable asset library
• Work with the writer and the on-camera creator from script stage, so the edit is planned rather than salvaged
• Watch performance data and adjust pacing and hook style based on what holds

What We're Looking For:

• At least 4 years editing short-form social video, with work we can watch
• Strong command of Premiere Pro or Final Cut, plus After Effects
• A reel that shows range across talking head, demo, and narrative-driven formats
• Ability to deliver several finished pieces a week without the quality dropping
• Good ear for music and sound design
• Understanding of what editing conventions currently work on US and European feeds
• Based in Bangalore, or willing to relocate

Nice to Have:

• Experience shooting as well as editing
• Motion design or 3D work
• Experience editing software or product demos
• Comfort using AI tools in the workflow, for rough cuts, captions, or cleanup
